I've taken clients from around the world to dinner here....never fails to impress. I think its proabably the atmosphere/ decor that does the trick everytime. Owned by actor Don Johnson (Miami Vice) so the place looks like a movie set. Oh and the food is good too.

We found this restaurant in the Zagat book in the Tower at the deYoung Museum. Excellent!! We chose from the waiter Daniel's suggestions. The sea bass and pork chop entres were fabulous. The service was perfect: informative, non-invasive, prompt and genteel. Wonderful dining experience that rivals the 10.0 meal we ate at The Luxor in Las Vegas.

This place is by far my fiance and I FAVORITE restaurant!!!! The garlic roasted crab is phenomenal! I mean, it leaves you wanting more every time and no where else compares! The seafood combination fried rice is spectacular! The garlic noodles is also a famous dish here. And we love the fried banana dessert! If I could eat here every night I would... it is that good! The restaurant does get busy, but if I could tell you one thing it would be.... WAIT! No matter how long it is... wait... you will be so happy you did! Please go try this restaurant! It is just so good! =)

Walked into Tu Lan and ordered my usual at every Vietnamese joint I've been to since I was a kid-- rice noodles with charboiled pork and eggrolls or, here at Tu Lan, the number 17: Pork kebabs with imperial rolls over rice noodles. A great dish that's seen its days on Julia Child's plate, apparently. Food came out in less than 3 minutes. It's in and out here, folks. Don't sit around and shoot the bull too long here because they'll wait around for you to leave so they can usher in the next lucky ones in that long line during dinner hours. Good prices, good food, though my friend's noodle dish was a little too salty. I'd eat here every day if I knew my cholesteral could take all that fried goodness...
Pros: food, quick service, the #17
Cons: small

I am not used to writing reviews for places but felt I do this one. Last time, I logged into my yelp, it gave me a list of reviews just written and the top review was for Saigon Sandwich on Larkin. I had seen their name in yelp searches because it comes up way close to the top for having too many good reviews but always assumed they got lots of good reviews because they were cheap and people were being nice to grade them good all the time. The first line of this review stated how delicious the roast pork sandwich has been, etc. I decided to check it so I can check my own assumptions about their high score and if the food is really that good. I did today and it turned out almost as I had expected. The place is a small space with room for a few people to stand and maybe a couple to sit comfortably. It is well-stocked and the two ladies behind the counter moved (almost ran) to do orders. Every person in there was ordering multiple sandwiches ($3 for 90% of them) and once the line cleared, I was at counter when the tall fat guy in front of me ordered. He wanted 3 pork sandwiches and went to sit. He came back later to add a meatball also and his soda and they were all togo. But he sat and started eating them there. I ordered the world-famous roast pork togo and nothing else. I expected it to be a typical Vietnamese sandwich and it was. White roll with enough hot roast pork to make a medium size sandwich and the vegetables that make it Vietnamese. I avoid white bread but the sandwich was good. I wouldn't eat two nor would head here just for it. I put it on my no-destination list. Sometimes, a person has no specific destination and wander. If someday I end up there this way, I have nothing against eating there but I don't know if it is worth going all the way there. If a person eats more than one, he/she just gets a lot of bread. Not??? I gave them 4 stars because they do a good job as a business start to finish but the food is not awesome. Some simple sandwich places kick as#$# and I have to give them credit by holding one star here. Try it.
Pros: Clean, Well-lit, Efficient Service, Cheap, Good EAt
Cons: Half-the-Meat

We went to RoHan Lounge the night before 4th of July, and we had a great time. The ambience is cool. We had a large group of 8 people and the one bartender and one waitress were nice, prompt and best of all the food is good and cheap! The crispy tofu was cooked perfectly and not oily. The vegetable dumplings were a little overdone, but the beef was also terrific. Overall, we were very happy and wish it was closer to where we live!
Pros: food is tasty for a great price
Cons: location

The food is outstanding - I always have the fish claypot - yummy! The appetizers are hard to choose from so we always have them all. This is the jewel of asian/fusion cuisine and I can't recommend it highly enough. The owners are gracious and inviting - it is a great place to host a small event for a celebration. Try it!
Pros: Excellent Food
Cons: Not close enough to where I live - in SoCal

This is my family's favorite Korean BBQ to eat we always go here whenever we visit SF. My mom is korean and we're pretty picky about korean restaurants but this place is awesome. We usually just order meat a la carte style but one night we did the family bbq meals that are offered and the four of us had enough food to feed like 7 people. it isn't fancy by any means and it's always really crowded and smoky from all the grilling at each table but that just makes it more fun for me. it is super authentic and even if you don't bbq the other food on the menu is really good too. this is my favorite korean restaurant in SF, and pretty much my favorite restaurant outside of Korea.
Tip: ordering beef shortribs to grill are delicious, but if you order a chicken or pork (spicy daegee bulgogi) then you get waaaay more meat than with the beef.
Pros: You get to cook your own food if BBQ, great food, reasonable prices
Cons: long wait on weekends, parking on street

My husband took me to Dragonfly on Valentine's Day this year. It was quite a treat! The wait staff is amazing; very quick on orders. The food was very tasty; we ordered the golden shrimp, the treasure rolls, the coconut chicken, and the garlic noodles with prawns. The portions were just right for the two of us. And to put us over the top, we received a complimentary dessert to celebrate Valentine's Day. It was a wonderful experience. I can't wait to go again.
Pros: Wait staff service, food, pricing, ambience
Cons: Parking
