Newbury Comics

I went there to sell at least 20 unscratched games including new ones that i just bought and took out of the case and didn't like the game. when i got there and tried to sell the games to them the clerk would only buy 3!!! not including the ones i just bought and took out of the case!!!Also she wanted 8 dollars for them!!!!I don't recommend it for selling games,instead i would sell them on ebay or gamestop. When i was buying the prices were outrages. Old games and used games were at least over 15 dollars. more

I can't tell what Newbury Comics is. It's a music store right? A music store owned by fox and comedy central maybe? The walls are shelves are littered with simpsons, family guy, and anime paraphernalia...toys, blow up dolls, Elvis alarm clocks, t-shirts. Is this spencer gifts? I haven't been to a mall in a while...maybe those don't exist anymore. Beyond all of the shtick that plagues this store, there is a comprehensive accumulation of music, CDs, vinyl, DVDs, magazines etc. Their prices usually a on par with the big Virgin Megastore located 5 storefronts away, but the sales on new releases are where it's at. They also have a pretty great DVD collection, new and used...foreign, criterion, pop film, music etc. They're all pretty expensive, but it's a nice selection. Probably the best is the free selection of magazines and junk at the main store entrance. You can pick up all of the free zines in town as well as the hilarious VICE magazine. This place kinda gives me a headache. more

The Newbury Street location of Newbury Comics may be crowded, but it brings a fun treat to that end of the street. The music selection here is great, with great prices on the newest releases, both mainstream and independent. Besides the music and movies, the store offers magazines, shirts, posters, and other items from your favorite television show, movie, or comic. more

This recently expanded location of Newbury Comics now has a huge selection of new and used CDs as well as music and movie themed T-shirts, buttons, posters, and other paraphernalia. There's also a wide selection of comic books and books on pop culture. The 'wicked cheap' CD selecction is always worth a look and the used CD section has become one of the more comprehensive around without its own store. Very crowded store on weekends, but you can't beat the prices on new releases. Sign up for their email list (they don't spam you) and get coupons in your email nearly every week. more

If you like music and random knickknacks, then you absolutely must head to Newbury Comics. There are convenient locations all over Boston such as on Newbury St. and in Harvard Square. Despite the name, they don't primarily sell comics. Instead, they really sell a large collection of CDs and DVDs along with neat little action figures and random stuff to decorate your home. more

Anytime I am looking for a hard to find album or local band album, I go to Newbury Comics. I love that they sell used CDs. I came from Northampton, MA where there are used music stores on every corner. This is a great place to fill that void. They also have movie ciche (spelling?) and comic books that are hard to find in other places. more

You wouldn't expect this alternative mecca on Newbury Street, but Newbury Comics suprisingly blends well with this neighborhood. Newbury Comics is the place to go if you desire the latest alternative literature or local band CD. They carry a large selection of hard-to-find alblums and rare limited editions. You can also stock up on fun accesories like patches, stickers with your favorite alt rockers and other accesories. The staff is super helpful and will go great lengths to make their customers happy. more

I go to this store every chance that I get! They have so much stuff to browse through. The staff is always willing to help you find exactly what you're looking for, as well. They have a great selection of music and movies. The prices are great, and they always have some really cool stuff on sale. It's a great place to browse through for a few hours. more

Fun to just browse around this store. The selection is awesome and the prices are deccent. They also sell some cute timbuk2 bags. The staff isn't aggressive and there are all types of stoppers in the store. Don't be intimidated. The staff really know their stuff, so don't be afraid to ask them a question. There are several chains of this store, so there might be one closer to you. This one seems to be dominated by the college crowd. more

This is a great store for those looking for used CDs, random Pop Culture gifts, DVDs, etc. Located on the end of Newbury Street closest to Mass. Ave., this is my favorite music store in all of Back BAy and South End. I think it's the most reasonably priced, too. more

Newbury comics is a great place to find a lot of fun, sometimes really random things. From great, decently-priced CDs, to posters, to games, to figurines, and...um comics!, Newbury Comics really has it all. Definitely worth a look. The people who work there are also very helpful if you are looking for something specific. Great nostalgic pieces too (memorabilia from Kiss, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Strawberry Shortcake, etc.) more

This place has all the variety of comic books anyone would need. I would want this place to be my home. Besides the excellent selection of comic books, the collectibles are pretty neat, too. It is right on Newbury Street so it is easy to get to, especially when you are shopping on that street. I would highly recommend Newbury comics. more

With almost every CD and DVD under the sun, as well as a great selection of posters, action figures and about every other entertainment-related gift possible, Newbury Comics is my favorite shop to go to when searching for a fun birthday gift. The atmosphere is hip and relaxed, and salespeople are cool. Check it out. more
