The Museum of Fine Arts is a great place to go to relax, walk around, and experience art in its purest form. They have exhibitions containing ancient Egyptian art, all the way up to the modern period (my personal favorites). If you are a Boston-area student, you can also get discounted or even free admission with your student ID card...definitely a great deal!

The Garment District is a massive warehouse of clothing right in Cambridge. They sell clothes at some pretty good prices, but the main "attraction" is the section where they sell clothes by the pound. For someone who has time to sift through everything, this can add up to be quite the bargain! Then again, it's really hit or miss, as they are always getting new shipments in.

The Red Sox Official Store has it ALL. Every jersey/practice jersey in every color adorn the walls of the store. There are some really nice photos of Fenway Park, along with mini bats, balls and any and every article of clothing that you can think of. The store is huge, however, being as this is the "official" Red Sox store, the prices are quite pricey. You're not gunna find a good deal here.

Mazurs is located right off the LIE in Little Neck, in a large shopping center with plenty of parking. Mazurs is a very cute, glatt kosher marketplace, with a large meat section, and some foods that you would be hard pressed to find anywhere else. There is also a little cafe where you can enjoy their freshly prepared food, or even a quick snack. Definitely check it out if you are in the area.

Mauzones is a great (also kosher) place to shop and grab a bite to eat. Matzah balls are deliciously prepared; all light and fluffy and their salads are wonderful. On a Friday, I recommend getting there early -- it's going to be packed with a line out the door! It is much quieter on a normal weekday during the day. Don't forget to visit their bakery, you will not be disappointed!

Loew's at Roosevelt Field is a very large theater with plenty of screens showing the top movies. Located adjacent to the Roosevelt Field mall and many restaurants and shops, it is a very convenient location to spend the day. Matinee prices are pretty reasonable too. Get there early though, parking can get a little crazy, especially on weekends or rainy days when the mall is packed with shoppers!

This place always seems to be changing doctors. Some of them are really great, nice people, but others, well, I wouldn't want my kid to go see them. They just seem to be stressed all the time and not concentrating on what is going on. Please leave your personal issues at home! You may want to find a smaller practice, especially for little, little ones.

Raxx is a really nice billiards place and grill in West Hempstead. It is 21 plus, which gives it a nice, mature atmosphere, and the food is pretty good too! Standard fare for a grille. Billiard prices are decent, and they are always running tournaments, and have leagues that you can join. If you're lucky, maybe you'll pick up a few tips! And if a night of Billiards isn't enough for you, practically right next door is Oz, a cool little nightclub.

Systematic knows their cars. I've gone there many times, and they also offer to give me a ride anywhere I need to go, or ask if I need anything. They explain everything thoroughly and will call numerous times during the day with updates on your vehicle. I recommend going there for any service: inspections, brakes, wipers...just don't get gas there, it's ridiculously expensive (even though it is full serve gas) as compared to your local Mobil or Exxon!

Dan's is a small supermarket in which mostly high school students work. The whole shopping center is overrun with teenagers (especially during lunch time during the school year!), so this can be a bit annoying. Sales are few and tough to come by. The employees aren't very helpful at all. I'd recommend trying a chain store first, you'll get a much better deal.
