When you want to look at art & surround yourself in beauty but don't have the energy to do a full day walking around a museum, taking on multiple galleries, rest easy at the Gardner. Each room is an inspiraton and loaded with gorgeous and spectacular paintings, anitiques and relics that appeal to the eye but at the same time you won't be overwhelmed. Even if you just want to sit overlooking the courtyard garden the entire time you're here, it is time wellspent.
Pros: any day here is a happy one
Cons: can't think of any

Bliss is one of my favs on Newbury Street! The owner/buyer does a fabulous job in their product selection of modern wares. They have a great Alessi and Mandarina Duck selection. Iittala, Juliska, French limoge china, and more are all artful displayed throughout the store. The hardest part is deciding what I want! Though their products skew a bit towards the higher end, there's some for every modern enthusist. Staff is quite helpful and knowledgable, never pushy. I love supporting this local independent, in the sea of "mall-a-fied" Newbury Street. I highly recommend Bliss.
Pros: Modern selection, customer service
Cons: none

This is the shop to go to in Boston! The staff caters to anything you need and the shop carrys everything your heart desires!
The selection at this shop is not limited to clothes...they carry beauty products, animal toys, accessories, and more! The one thing that you can count on is that everything in this store will be preppy and probably pink! The decor of the store is also very trendy....it is the type of store that makes you feel good to shop there....you don't even have to buy anything. Watch out though, prices can be quite high!
Of all of the places I have shopped in the city, this is my absolute favorite!

More
The Old North Church, located convieniently on the Freedom Trail in Boston's North End, is a great place to see history come to life. It was here that the two lanterns were hung in the steeple to tell the American Revolutionary Paul Revere that the British were coming by sea so that he could warn his fellow colonials in the country. The steeple still stands majestically visible above other area buildings today. It is still a functioning Episcopalian Church, but during times when it is not in use for mass, it is open for free tours. Featuring pieces of art and history from Colonial Times, visitors should take advantage of visiting this landmark if given the chance.
PROS: Historical Landmark

I received a necklace from Firefly during the holidays and recently stopped in to the store for the first time. I was amazed by how many unique items they carry. The owner told me that they carry over 30 lines of jewelry by different artists. They also have some really fun gifts, like a cake server shaped like a high heel shoe.
Overall, a great experience!..much better than hitting the mall.

I needed a cake for my husbands birthday and I remembered Sweet-n-Nasty from my college days and then later from my bachelorette party days. I am happy to report that the cakes are a riot( very risque like I wanted) and soooo moist. I couldn't believe that the prices haven't changed much at all. The cakes have solid chocolate Body Parts on them and you're not paying much more than you would for a cake at Stop & Shop! The staff was easy to work with and well informed. My guests and I were impressed!

This place BREATHES Irish. Fortunately, so does the city of Boston, so they go great together. It's located in Faneuil Hall, one of the most touristy (and enjoyable) areas of the city. If you know anyone who is Irish, you can probably find them some great gifts at this place. Whether its a corny keychain with their last name and its history written on it, or some authentic Irish pieces of art or clothing.

Deluca's is a great place for local residents in the Back Bay to stop for produce and groceries. The selection is on the gourmet side and pricy, but it's what you would select from such a market.
