Level Cafe/Bar

this place is on my list of places to NEVER go again unless i am in the mood to get pepper sprayed again!! yep...pepper spray in my eyes and the only onme standing near me was the BOUNCER so go figure. i went there with a gf of mine to have a few drinks and dance to some good music. within the first 10minutes of being there, we heard some type of confrontation behind us and ""someone"" sprayed mace or pepper spray in the air so naturally i was on the floor blinded for about 10minutes. i complained (yelled) and the bouncer looked at ME like i was CRAZY...unbelievable...NEVER go there! more

Been to this place a couple of times came in with open mind each time disappointed. if your familiar with bay ridge you know how it is classy upbeat lounges bars this place does not fit in. always fighting going on the people that come here are classless seems like the cheaper tackier verision of the now closed EXIT club in greenpoint. if you want a cheaper drink and stare at 16 17 year old females grinding on 40 year old men than this is your spot.\r otherwise go down 3rd ave way more better places more

i wne to level twice since its been open and that was 2 times more than i should have went!!! its a shame to see such a beautiful place in the heart of bayridge to be filled with a bunch of underage drunk kids fighting every weekend not only amongst eachother but with the security that the owners provide for their customers. I have a source that also told me that non of their alcohol is real for instance if you order a greygoose its not what youre getting same goes for all the other vodkas as well as your jack and johnny black. the ony thing that i was told was still real is the beer and thats because its bottled (although you dont get the bottle you get your beer in a plastic cup) Im surprised that this place is still open for as ong as it has been but i guess the underage kids that go there dont mind since its one of the few places they can get into pay a cover charge in BAYRIDGE and overpay for alcohol...theres alot more illegal activities in that place that ill leave for others to talk about.... more

I am a local Bay Ridge resident. I started going to Level when it opened a few years ago. Fast forward a few years later, and I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN. I was assaulted by a staff member three days ago. I hadn't been to Level in a while, because to be honest, the crowd has changed drastically. Considering this change, the owners have decided to have security checking people's bags and patting them down at the door...a lovely way to start your evening! I walked inside, it was very dark and crowded, and ultimately, very unorganized. I was trying to figure out where to pay to get in (charging $30 at the door!) only to have the worker (who was checking the bags, and who I hadn't noticed) jab her TWO FINGERS into my stomach so HARD that I flew backwards into my friends. This place is filled with LOW LIFE security guards. Sorry, I am a Brooklyn girl who is not used to be patted down to go have a drink in a cafe...I was not expecting to be searched in there. When I complained, I was not respected and they failed to do anything about it. I will NEVER GIVE THEM A DIME and I feel sorry for the owners...they have a problem on their hands now. This has to be the worst bar/lounge place in bay ridge. If you're looking for the epidemy of what a bad bar/lounge place should be go to Level. I have to say that though i live in bay ridge i rarely hang out here and i wouldn't be caught dead in this place. About the only place i sometimes go to (bar wise) here is The Pour House (and only on weeknights) \r \r I live exactly a block away from Level and every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night it's a madhouse. There is always some sort of commotion going on involving cops, screaming and fighting. What i don't understand is that for some odd reason this place is full of beautiful women. Why these beautiful women flock to this place is beyond me. The guys on the other hand are obnoxious guidos and meatheads. Places like this should be banned from bay ridge and from nyc for that matter. What someone should do is open up divey lounge or even a dive bar which would definitely compliment this neighborhood. I went to Level this Friday and it was very bad. I went there a while ago and I had a great experince this is why I decided to go back but i wasn't the same. The music was good... A bartender cursed me out without any reason and I stayed in shock for 20 min. I never experienced that in my life! It was too much. It was the worst experience in Brooklyn. I still had fun but I will never go back! I wouldn't recommend anybody to go there. Pros: music Cons: very bad service more

All i w ould like to say is the Worst halloween party i have ever been to.... The crowd was horriable the music suckeddddd.... The whole vibe was gone prior to last year. i have never in my life seen such a horriable turn around in any bussiness or club in one year. it is sad to say a once potenial great hot spot just turned out to fail...... The mng compared to last year took a flop. Two stars cause it's easy to pick up. Other than that the DJ needs to get fired. He plays a lot of old school music and unless you like to hear YMCA or m. i went to level cafe this weekend and i had t he most amazing time! I was just at level cafe for the first time and i have to say yes finaly some one was smart enough to open a lounge that caters to my need. This is a place that does not belong in Bay Ridge. The moment i walked in I was blown away from the design and decor of this cafe. I was greeted with a smile escorted to my seat from a lovely lady and shocked to see a lower level with a lounge!!! This was a place that didnt go over the top on the food but yet presentable and enjoyable. I can only imagine what goes on in the later part of the evenings here. I went level cafe with a couple of friends. We ordered pizzas and cheeseburgers. The cheeseburger platter where these three little imitation white castle burgers with stale buns and the pizza would have probably tasted better if it was hot. Then we decided to order some drinks. The drinks came about 45 minutes later and it wasn't even what we had ordered. Maybe you can say they where having an off night? My buddies went back a few weeks later and they said it was Deja Vu. more

From amazing Garlic Fries to minnie burgers and to a new up comming menu which i did order severl times from, it can't get any better than what Level Cafe has to offer. From Yummy Nacho grande, Pitta Panini, variety of Coffee and all time favorite Chocolate suicide, Cheese cake and Level Overload deserts is all I need when I come to Level. But besides the amazing upper scale finger foods and entres your night can easy trasnform into drinks, dancing and havign a great time. Buttom line Bayridge needed a hot spot like this, They have great table service at the lounge and pleaseee check out the bathrooms! they are awsome!. my husband brought me to see this ""hot new place"" in bayridge one friday night... the food was great and so was the music... i had the little burgers and thought they would be perfect for my boys one day after school...and sure enough the kids gave their thumbs up as well!!!!! i've been to level 3 times already and each time felt like a different experience. went to check out their new brunch menu on sunday with a few girlfriends and i need to rave about the turkey club! i was also there with my boyfriend and 2 other couples on thursday night and met the owner Nick and had a GREAT TIME!! when we left the place i almost forgot we were on 3rd ... p.s. nick, chill out with the shots my big shot boyfriend couldn't get up the next day!!! I went with my girlfriend for dinner on a Friday night. The menu is not extensive but everything we had was really good - including a greek salad, seafood ravioli and those small hamburgers! We stayed and went downstairs for drinks after dinner. It never got very crowded but the music was decent and the bartenders are friendly. The other reviewer that said you feel like you are in Greece... is right! \r \r My girlfriends and I actually went back the next afternoon for Saturday brunch. The owner remembered us from the night before and we got a complimentary cheesecake dessert, which was delicious. last weekend i went to meet the girls at level before a night out and oh my god .. we ended up celebrating my friends birthday all night at level... we loved the food ... we loved the music ..and we loved the crowd!\r more
