Bruno Salon & Spa

About a year and a half ago, my friend booked her wedding party with Bruno Salon and Spa. I happened to be one of her bridesmaids and was booked for an updo with Greg and makeup with Jovie. What a team! Fabulous, fabulous! I absolutely looked awesome thanks to the two of them! Based on that experience and without hesitation, I decided I would book my bridal party for my own wedding a month ago with Bruno Salon and Spa. I must say Bruno made certain we discussed all the fine details of my wedding services from hairstyles and makeup for each individual in my party, appointments for the day, to the cost of the services. I generally don't have the time, will or need to write reviews, but I feel it's important to give kudos where deserved. I was in town for an important event as my hair was a disaster. I was recommended by a colleague to try Bruno Salon in Brooklyn to fix my bad/orange hair. I called to set an appointment for a Friday afternoon and they were very accommodating. I was able to get an appointed with Bruno the owner himself. LUCKY! After he evaluated my hair and condition, he went straight to work - comforting me by saying he knows exactly how to fix it and make be beautiful. What I loved about this salon is that it felt like I was amongst friends and family the minute I walked in. Althought it's known for Bruno's famous color, I was also able to get a perfect haircut, mani/pedi and facial. Wow, one stop shop! Once complete, I looked in the mirror and almost cried. No more orange hair but a lovely chestnut brown long layered new look. My faced glowed and fingers were pretty again. Thanks for the transformation, thanks for taking me in, thanks for Bruno!! more

I went to Bruno's salon because i hear he was the best colorist, so I went I told him how I wanted my hair, and my color came out GREAT and I loved it. I got so many compliments on my hair everyone in the salon is great everyone is like family and they treat you WELL!!! His staff is the greatest everyone makes you feel comfortable, its a great atmosphere and I truly recommend that everyone go to Bruno's salon.\r . more

I went to Bruno's because of all the great reviews on here.\r I brought a photo of how I wanted my hair to be dyed and \r highlighted. Bruno and I discussed it and I thought that was that. \r \r After it was done, the color looked good, but it is not at all what I asked for. NOT AT ALL. And on top of that, Bruno was not there to check the color and ask me if I liked it after it was dry. That is highly unprofessional. It was quite expensive and for all of that money, I should get what I ask for. I have never had a hairdresser or colorist not check on me after my appointment was over. Terrible. I wonder if he was MIA because he knew it wasn't what I wanted. Anyhow, I won't be returning to Bruno's. more

My doctor recc that I go in for a Lymph Drainage Massage ..\r did some reserach and found Bruno's Spa ...\r Low and behold it was Spa week !!!\r Sadly I had to cancel my initial appt due to illness but was thrilled to find out Bruno extended Spa Week for another month.\r His attentive and charming receptionist Kizzy, phoned me to tell me...a very happy surprise!\r Went this past Sat for my Electro Lymphatic Drainage massage w Elena ...it was quite the workout , but with my illness anything that helps flush the body is appreciated.\r Elena explained everything and had both an uplifting and relaxing approach .\r Brunos place lives almost right on the ocean , as a transplanted Rhode Island girl it was nice to breathe in the sweet scent after a Spa experience.\r Bruno and his staff seem to believe in what they do and treat you as if you belong there amung them.\r If you are in brooklyn , look no further Bruno and his staff will treat you as majestic as the enviroment.\r thanks for my experience ...see you soon. Brunos salon is a very warm and welcoming environment.. They have the best massages which I absolutely enjoyed. Eleni has strong hands and she is great! All the stylist are great at wat dey do, however I love cathys blow outs!! more

I've been coming to Bruno Salon & Spa for the past 3 yrs and i have to admit i dont want to go anywhere else!! Bruno has been coloring my hair & i have gotten more compliments on my hair in the past few years then ever before. Bruno has a natural talent for knowing what colors will work with your complexion and your overall look. Bruno has always been very professional, accomodating and is always making sure that you are happy with your look & color.I would recommend him to anyone...he is a natural in this field. Also, i would like to add the hair stylists and well as the other professionals are very good as well. Only con i would say is that a few times that i have gotten a mani/pedi i havent been very happy with the service. I've felt rushed in the mani/pedi and i dont think the quality is as good. I have been coming to Bruno's from the day they opened. It is a fabulous salon! Inviting, professional, exactly what you expect from an upscale salon. The staff is amazing but one stands out ABOVE the REST - Cathy! I have been with Cathy for years! Long before her days at Bruno Salon and Spa. She is EXACTLY what a Master Stylist and Colorist should be! All I need to do is come in and relax and put my hair in her awesome hands! She knows EXACTLY what works for me without even uttering a word! She is an amazing Colorist!!! If you ever dreamed of a stylist that you could trust implicitly - then Cathy is that person! I urge everyone to come in and let Cathy work her magic on you! And by the way...I come to see Cathy all the way from Princeton, NJ!!! She is sooo worth the trip!! more

The staff at Bruno's are extremely professional, experienced & courteous. When I leave Bruno's chair, my hair color looks so natural. Greg (The Scissor King) cuts my hair. I felt as if I were entering a Salon and Spa only found in a Manhattan nook only the elite might know about!\r \r I desperately needed a new look. Thats where Cathy, a MASTER STYLIST stepped in and took over. I watched almost in disbelief as 6 inches or more of my long time, long and curly hair was scissored away and falling to the floor. She cut my hair without hesitation, taking into consideration the shape of my face and the texture of my hair. She did it with such ease I immediately felt my surrender to her expertise. Ultimately, I walked out of that shop looking contemporary and 10 years younger! Could I EVER imagine going anywhere else?? NEVER! \r \r Need a new look? I just came back from my first visit to Bruno Salon and Spa. I had a bikini wax that was somewhere between a Brazilian and a Baby Bare. Lana was awesome. I've never had such a thorough waxing done so quickly. No stray hairs, no wax still stuck to me when I got home. I've found my new waxing place! From the minute I walked into the salon, late for my appointment I found the lack of attitude very refreshing. The owner of the salon is very hands on without being the obviously bossy type I have come across so often. I made an appointment again and hope to keep coming here. How great is it to go to a salon and get a facial or microderm abrasion for $50 during spa week. From the minute you walk through the door, the staff is both caring and professional. I met Bruno who is the owner and now my colorist. I was so totally taken by his warmth and charm. I felt so pampered and taken care of that I wish I could have spent the whole day there. The salon is so elegant and inviting. I left the salon feeling absolutely wonderful and can't wait for the next visit. Pros: Excellent Service , Atomosphere more

It's a shame because he did do my hair beautifully for the first two years I was going to him, but will no longer because my hair too looked awful the last time I was there and like the other reviewer, he had already left. I recommend Kyra for color. I get so many more compliments on my color since she started doing it. Before, I was going to Bumble and Bumble in Manhattan, paying more but not really enjoying the experience or the results.\r This salon has a great, friendly atmosphere too. more

Nothing can cure your over-crowded, over-whelmed city blues like a trip to Bruno Salon & Spa! It's located on beautiful and peaceful Shore Road in Bay Ridge (where you almost forget you are in the city at all). The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and indulgent. From the moment we entered, we were welcomed by friendly and professional staff, who catered to our every need. What impressed me the most about my experience was the atmosphere. Many salons and spas in the area have an air of pompousness and snobbery. Bruno Salon & Spa is anything but that! The staff made us feel right at home from the moment we walked through the door. The warm and friendly atmosphere certainly added to our relaxation. My massage was the best I have ever received! My friend's mani/pedi looked fabulous (and very pampering). I walked out very happy with my new hair style (which is rare - I am a tough critic). We followed our amazing spa exeprience with a decadent lunch at a nearby restaurant (the area has many fine dining options). All in all, this was the perfect day of beauty and relaxation. I will definitely recommend Bruno Salon & Spa to everyone I know. I cannot wait to go back! more
