Okay food, rude staff 12/31/2009

One World is okay if you can't make it to Baltimore's other veg restaurants, but this place is run like you should feel privileged they let you walk in the door. The servers are reluctant to accommodate any request and violate most basic social niceties associated with waiting tables. more

Great Vegetarian Food 3/28/2006

I would suggest One World Cafe in Baltimore to any vegetarian or vegan looking for a good meal. The menu has a very good selection for all meals, and it tells you which selections are vegan. There is also an alcohol drink menu that includes organic beers and wines. The food and drinks are very tasty and the atmosphere is relaxing. more

From Tea to Burritos 2/4/2006

One World Cafe is a vegetarian joint that even my carnivore husband would enjoy! I have spent many hours lounging on their velvet couches in the front of the cafe with a good book, and even more time curled up in a nook in the dining room with close friends, a big plate of black bean nachos, and a few beers. Be sure to try their Sunny Slopes tea and the black bean burritos. If you're feeling wild, try their specialty coconut coffee! more

Great vegetarian food and more 2/1/2006

One World Cafe is a vegetarian restaurant located on University Parkway. They serve largely vegetarian food--but don't let that stop you carnivores out there. My fiance, an avid meat lover, enjoys their black bean burrito just as much as the next herbivore. They also serve excellent espresso drinks, and their desserts are fantastic. They always have interesting art on the walls. Also, every Tuesday night--after 5:30pm--is half price burrito & quesadilla night. Sometimes a bit of a wait, but these burritos are worth it! more

Good food if your a vegetarian 8/17/2005

This place has some really good dishes on the menu. My favorite is the Caesar salad with tofu. They add a little kick to the standard Ceasar by adding onions to it. Really good tasting food here. In addition, they always have good seasonal beers on tap. Prices are very reasonable and they have a couple pool tables to use while you are there. more

Good food, good atmosphere 8/16/2005

Even for an Omnivore like myself, One World Cafe is a great place to go for food or drinks. The bar has a great selection and is reasonably priced, and the staff, though eccentric, is friendly and capable. Their quesadillas and burritos (which are half-price on Tuesdays) are very good, and the Spinach Lasagna (the only other dish I've had there) is also good. In the warmer months, they offer a small outdoor dining area. more

It’s not International, but it’s Good 8/15/2005

This is a great organic type of place to eat. The prices are low low low. The coffee is good. It has a very laid back atmosphere. If you are looking for sophisticated, this is not the place for you. However, they do also have a nice bar if you want a beer or some wine with your drink. Its very simple food, but pure in taste and in ingredients. That is what I like about it. When you leave after eating, you don’t feel that you are going to put more pot holes in Baltimore City streets. Sometimes the people who work there are moving on the slow side, so just go to enjoy, chat with you eating companion, and relax. more

Great for Vegetarians, Bad for Meat Lovers 8/5/2005

GREAT FOR VEGETARIANS (they do serve fish), BAD FOR MEAT LOVERS. So yes, this place is an all vegetarian, all organic place, but trust me, that doesn't mean it's boring. This is a cute sit down cafe that also specializes in coffee (though I didn't have any) located on the Johns Hopkins campus. A big problem is the parking around that area, but if you are awesome at parallel parking and have a Mini, then you have no worries. When I went there I was brave and ordered a Tempeh ( a soy product) Reuben. It was served with grilled seasoned tempeh, sauerkraut, Russian dressing, swiss cheese, tomato and sprouts on sour dough bread. My friend tried their Eggplant Gyro which was delicious!!! My two other friends tried something with tuna in it and I wasn't that impressed. Another time I went I ordered the Powerhouse sandwich with provologne cheese. This is an all-veggie sandwich and it was very hearty and HUGE. I was very satisfied with this sandwich, which is good because I normally need meat in everything. So my advice is to go there when you are feeling nature-friendly and be adventurous! more

Excellent vegetarian restaurant 6/30/2005

One World has a great menu that has plenty to offer to vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. The dining area is pleasantly decorated and the service is prompt and friendly, and the bar looked tempting. The food was excellent--the vegetables were fresh, portions were generous, and I highly recommend the lasagna. more
