Awesome Asian! 8/20/2005

Absolutely the best spring rolls in the Twin Cities. The Lotus is a really nummy Vietnamese restaurant. I highly recommend it for both the food and the service. Both are excellent. The food isn't greasy, like much Asian cuisine can be, and the vegetables are fresh, and not overcooked. The staff is exceptionally friendly and warm, and I always feel very welcome. The ambiance isn't necessarily intimate, but still a great place for a date or a dinner with friends or colleagues. more

Good food, great spring rolls! 8/18/2005

The Lotus is a good Vietnamese restaurant. I have always been pleased with the food and service at their stadium village location. They have a good selection of vegetarian and meaty options. I think they have the best spring rolls in town, plus they make a vegetarian version with mock duck that is great! more

  • In Short
The decor in this small, one-room restaurant is pretty bare bones--plain white walls with a few large, gold fans depicting tigers and peacocks. Diners are strictly local: young students and professors from the U, and employees from the nearby hospital. The Vietnamese and Chinese dishes include curried cream cheese wontons, plump shrimp and meaty crab claws. A flaky piece of walleye arrives in a savory black bean sauce.
