I enjoy a good sake, and this place has got an amazing selection. Go during happy hour and get a ton of appetizers and a flight of sake, you will be happy you did. Their cranberry cream cheese wontons are out of this world as is all of their other food. We just order one of each on the menu in a large group and pass things around family style. I love the decor and service as well!
Pros: great ambiance, fantastic food
Cons: sake was pricey, parking is scarce

I have been to Chiang Mai Thai 3 times now with 3 different groups of people and I have enjoyed every experience. The fresh spring rolls are great and the Tom Yum soup is extremely flavorful. Be carefule when they ask you how spicy you want your dish, I love spicy food and a 2 is about my limit. Enjoy!
Pros: service, taste, price

I tried this restaurant a couple of times. Both the times I went in for the lunch buffet. The waiter was really polite and courteous. They did not have lot of options. A few vegetarian dishes and some non-vegetarian options. My favorite was the appetizer vegetable pakora (Deep fried batter mixed with vegetables). Little pricey for what they had. I finished my lunch with a Kulfi (Indian Ice Cream made with pure milk, pistachio, saffron) which was great.

I went to Origami with a group of friends. When we go there it was pretty slow but it got busier around 8pm. The sushi was very fresh and there were a lot of options and specialty rolls. Service was a bit slow when we wanted to order a few more rolls. Green tea ice cream was excellent but maybe too small of a portion. Overall, cool atmosphere, cool neighborhood, I would definitley go back.
Pros: Good Food, Good Ambience
Cons: Service was a bit slow

We had a wonderful time.......the breads are perfect and the curries so truly Indian. The samosas are some of the best I've ever had, with a wonderfully different sauce. I like good, wholesome Indian food in a warm, friendly environment...and that's what we always get.
Pros: authentic food
Cons: too far

I've been eating here since it was still located on Nicollet Mall (until Target tore it down.) People who just order noodles and rice, as noted in other reviews, might be disappointed.
If you don't play it "safe" you will be rewarded: (I always order the shrimp where available, they are huge, plump, and tender) 1. Holy Basil Sauce with beef, ask for no mushroom, just onion, the mushrooms wash out the flavor. Very hot and one of the best meals I've ever had. Beef is tender and semi shredded. 2. Roasted Hot Pepper Sauce with cashews, peanuts, and shrimp. Sweet and hot, the shrimp are great. 3. Thai-Style Sweet and Sour with batter-fried shrimp. A smokey sweet sauce, probably the best sweet and sour I've ever had. 4. Tom Yum - clear tangy soup with shrimp, the best Tom Yum in town. Very spicy, very crisp and clean flavor. Most Thai restaurants don't push the flavors enough when making a Tom Yum, they make it weak for Minnesota tastes. 5. The curries are great, can't remember which i had last time but very solid.
I prefer to eat in the bar area, though dining room is a tad more formal. Make reservations normally, it gets busy. Trust me on those dishes, I don't think you will be disappointed.
Pros: If you know what to order, best Thai in Minneapolis
Cons: A little more expensive then it used to be, but after I'm done eating, I have no regrets.

I was a little weary trying Ichibans. I've gone to Benihanas before and was really disappointed, and after reading jjn867's comment, I got worried it was going to be just like Benihanas. I'm am so glad that I didn't pay attention to that review. Ichibans is THE BEST!!! The food was wonderful! My husband and I both had the Superior (came with everything) and our kids had the kids meals. Ichibans is now our family's favorite restaurant! Our chef was so funny and very entertaining... my kids are still asking me if they can try the egg trick! This is definately a place you need to try for yourself and make your own decision. Personally... I LOVE IT!!!
Pros: Great chef, beautiful atmosphere, awsome service
Cons: Parking

There just aren't enough stars. Five stars are not enough. I would give Temple six stars after my last dinner there. I was there for a romantic Valentine's Day dinner with my beloved. We are both vegetarian an had planned to split the Singapore noodle--an amazing dish with five spice. But it had been recently removed from the menu, much to our dismay. The hot and spicy eggplant had been too hot and spicy for us the last time, so we didn't know what to do. The chef made us a new creation with noodles and five spice and a variety of vegetables. It was better than anything I've ever had before anywhere. He is truly talented.
As usual, we ordered the squash dumplings, edamame, tamago, and seaweed salad. Everything was delicious, as always. These are my favorite dishes at Temple. The dumplings are more flavorful than any I have ever tasted before. The edamame shells just fall off the bean. The tamago is smoother and more perfectly layered than any I've ever had. The wine list is great too.
I recommend this restaurant for anyone who is looking for a relaxing evening of sensational flavors, great service, and romantic ambiance.
Pros: Talented chef, flavorful food, romantic ambiance
