A Big Independent Bookstore in Beautiful Boulder 2/28/2006

It’s fun for us Denver-ites to head up to Boulder sometimes and browse the shops on old Pearl Street. One of the bookstores on the shopping strip is the Boulder Bookstore, which is remarkably big and well-stocked for an indie bookstore – I wouldn’t have realized it was an independent store if their website hadn’t said so. The two-level bookstore has the pleasant buzz of thriving business, and the service is just right: they have enough other customers to keep them busy, so that you don’t get three different people ask you if they can help you find something, but when you DO need service it’s friendly and easy to find. more

Change of Pace! 2/20/2006

Take a break from the big bookstores and enjoy an afternoon at the Boulder Book Store! They have a really nice ambiance and a lovely coffee shop. Look through old books or new and enjoy the nice atmosphere! The staff is very friendly and are willing to help you locate a book you may not be able to find. This bookstore may not have as big of selection as other stores, but it is a nice place to get away! more

Boulder Book Store 12/13/2005

The Boulder Book Store is independently owned and carries mainstream to local authors, one of my favorite places in boulder. If you are a book lover Id recommend you check it out as you will find different types of books you will never find in places like Barne's N Noble's. The Boulder Book Store has 3 levels of any type of book you are looking for from new releases to a used book section. In addition to books, it has a wall of a variety of magazines as well as gifts/cards. At times they have book readings from local/mainstream authors. A café is next door to this place but is usually busy but if you can buy a good book and find a place to sit ,sip coffee ,people watch and read a book id do it. The staff at the Boulder Book store is always so helpful and encourages you to stay awhile and check out their variety of titles. more

A Great Independent Bookstore 12/6/2005

Three levels of books for a nice selection. Very helpful staff. The attached cafe also offers good coffee and plenty of wireless access. A solid choice. more

Great place to spend a Sunday afternoon 11/7/2005

The Boulder Bookstore is warm, comfortable and jam packed with books. This is a graet place to spend hours getting lost in the latest and greatest reads in any category imaginable. The Pearl Street location and adjoining Bookend Cafe make this place a jem! more

A lot of books in a small area. 9/28/2005

There are a lot of books in this book store as well as a nice magazine selection. They actively support the Keep Boulder Weird campaign, I belive it was started by one of their owners. They also have a small, but well edited selection of chocolate, try the Vosges, it is very good. Best time to go is during the week, it can get hectic on the weekends. more

SO MUCH TO SEE & READ! 9/23/2005

There are SO MANY books here, you can spend hours. The staff encourages you to spend time browsing the many titles too. And right next door is a yummy little cafe for coffee and muffins and all sorts of treats. You can find random magazines here, cards, gifts and truly any book under the sun! It is right on the Pearl STreet mall which is an added people watching bonus! more

Boulder Bookstore 8/15/2005

You just can't visit Boulder without visiting the Boulder Bookstore. It's the only game in town. Which is to say that it's one of the best independent bookstores still around that hasn't been squashed or marginalized by the huge corporate big boxes. Boulder Bookstore has three and a half floors of books, a great kids' section, a used shelf, frequent author readings, and an adjacent cafe. The location at the West end of the Pearl Street Mall makes it inescapable. Go there. Read. more

Bookstore for the rest of us. 7/17/2005

No hippies, no nerds, no one type of person shops at this store. Everyone, from the housewife looking for a dirty read to the student needing that chem book at a bit below list price will shop here. Lots of books... textbooks, novels, non fiction... they have a lot of different varieties to choose from. Good find for anyone needing a good read. more

Great Books 6/28/2005

This is a fairly large store, with a great variety of books, both popular and controversial selections. It has a small cafe to one side, and three stories filled with a large selection for reading pleasure. They also have readings by authors on a regular basis, making it not only a great place to find books, but a great place to hang out. more
