I haven't been in much book stores like this one and that is independently owned. This book store is 3 floors filled with books of all types including for kids. They also often have author readings and a great selection of magazines. Anyone and everyone comes here whether they live here or are just visiting. The location is one of the best places to be and snuggled up to a cafe who wouldn't want to go buy a great book and go sit at the cafe or just hang out in this warm and inviting place.

The help is legendary -- you enter with a problem and leave with a solution.
You can buy small quantities of what you need at McGuckins or
buy larger quantities than you wanted from a smaller selection at Home Depot.
The reason McGuckins looks sooo much smaller than Home Depot is
that McGuckins has a large warehouse outside the city.
Many is the time that I've told a salesperson at McGuckins that
"The advice is so valuable that I must be getting the hardware for free"

If you are looking for a unique gift or nice stationary, check out The Paper Doll located on Pearl Street in Boulder! They have the latest cutesy little gifts, lotions and jewelery. They have an amazing card selection for every occasion! If you need a unique baby shower gift, check out their baby section! The only downfall is that the store is cluttered with all the cute stuff, so it is sometimes hard to see everything and navigate the aisles. Besides that, it is an awesome store!

I stumbled on the Middle Fish accidently a few months ago. I tend to come back whenever I need gifts for people who have everything. One can find anything from traditional to bizarre, and spend hours going over everything. The prices are fairly good for what they offer.

This place is well known in Boulder and I can see why. The service is good, the chai I had was hot and spicy--just the way I like it. They offer marvelous pastries to go with their beverages and I ordered an orange biscotti that was very, very good! There is a chocolatier in the corner--yum yum!
The staff was very cordial and I had a lovely chat while waiting for my chai. tables are quickly cleaned off for the next customer. All in all--so much better than the large chain coffee shops!

This place is filled with unique gifts ranging from traditional to just plain weird and crazy looking pieces. You can spend hours looking at variety of unique gifts. It is one of those stores you will want to visit often to see if you have a new and original piece that you might want to keep for yourself or give as a gift. For selling such original gifts the prices are very affordable.

This is a great store for unique gifts and small items. You walk in to oprah music playing over the store, to seeing shirts that say it's all about me. It's a great combination of a funny side and a more classy sophisticated side for gifts. They have a ton of great cards as part of the gifts. The one downfall is that they are a fairly small store.

I absolutely loved this shop! This shop contains unique western items that you just won' find in other western stores. Prices range from $ to $$$ so there is something for everyone. The owner of the shop is friendly and helpful and I enjoyed the time I spent in the shop talking with her. This shop is a must for a cowgirl or a cowgirl at heart. I plan on being back in Boulder this fall and the first thing I'm doing is stopping in and checking out what new things she has acquired.
Pros: Unique items made by cowboy/cowgirl artists.
Cons: Not enough money to buy everything I wanted.
