I haven't been in much book stores like this one and that is independently owned. This book store is 3 floors filled with books of all types including for kids. They also often have author readings and a great selection of magazines. Anyone and everyone comes here whether they live here or are just visiting. The location is one of the best places to be and snuggled up to a cafe who wouldn't want to go buy a great book and go sit at the cafe or just hang out in this warm and inviting place.

Karal has a gift to make people beautiful. I always felt like I had good hair, but never really had a good hair cut my entire life--until Karal. She takes any hair questions completely serious and professionaly. She offers tips on how to duplicate her styling techniques. I started to go grey and Karal colored my hair so perfectly that no one even noticed. The only feedback I receive now is how great my hair looks, which never happened before my entire life. The new Sugar Salon is a nice private venue, and Karal is a joy to visit. She is truely a "hair guru."
Pros: Karal is Fantastic
Cons: I am willing to commute to Boulder to have great hair

They have baked goods and other treats for your dog in addition to bagged food, toys, leashes and all the other gear your canine (and feline) companions could possibly need. One nice thing about this store, too, is that they offer frequent activities - hikes with your dogs and other themed events. Get on the mailing list and get those paws moving!

I take trips to Boulder specifically to go to Chelsea. They have a GREAT selection of jeans! Everything about this store is perfect. The women that run the shop are so nice and helpful. If they are out of something that you are looking for, they will put you on a list to give you a call when it comes in. Another bonus is Henry, the shop dog! He is the sweetest and most loving Viszla. If anything, just stop in to say hi to him!

The help is legendary -- you enter with a problem and leave with a solution.
You can buy small quantities of what you need at McGuckins or
buy larger quantities than you wanted from a smaller selection at Home Depot.
The reason McGuckins looks sooo much smaller than Home Depot is
that McGuckins has a large warehouse outside the city.
Many is the time that I've told a salesperson at McGuckins that
"The advice is so valuable that I must be getting the hardware for free"

If you are looking for unique pieces or even something you've seen in the latest fashion mag, this is the place to go. Coming from L.A., this place is comparable to the unique boutiques found on Robertson Blvd. The sales reps are always really nice, even if you are browsing. They are on top of the fashion trends and carry lots of higher end designers. They are pricey, but never more than any other retailers that carry the same brands. They have a fantastic summer sale. I always wait for the July 4th weekend when they knock an additional 40% off their clearance prices.
Pros: Unique fashion finds. Great customer service
Cons: Pricey.

I LOVE this toy store! Locally owned and operated. They have the BEST selection of stuffed animals, even better than FAO Schwartz. All of their toys are non-violent. They carry everything from Steiff bears to Hello Kitty pencils. The staff is very helpful. They also have a entire room dedicated to toys for babies. Check out the Free gift wrapping with a minimum purchase of $5. Large selection of gift wrap and they are very quick and make the packages beautiful.

When I first walked into The Bookworm, I was floored. It is undoubtedly the largest used book collection I have ever seen, and that was when they were in a low-ceilinged hovel by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
They've since moved to a nice, airy, high-ceilinged space on the West side of 28th Street and their collection is wonderfully organized. You get one quarter of the book's cover price for trade, and there's no way to walk out of there without spending some of the credit you've earned.
