It is a great place to go have a bloody mary on a Sunday morning, especially if it is warm and sunny out. The food is just average. The waitresses used to be really hot until th...

Heroin Chic to Aging Family Hipsters 8/7/2005

I love this place on a Sunday. Be prepared for long waits if you get there after noon, but sit and soak up the rays and down several of their stiff drinks (all served in plastic glasses). Some of the best bloody Mary's in the city. Service always slow, and either too-cool-for-skool or super friendly tattoed waitresses. Don't expect fine dining. Go for the vibe and get stuck all afternoon. Pros: Sunny, Stiff Bloody Marys, Huge Mimosas Cons: Long waits more

Not always fun 6/18/2005

The Ramp is in a great location and it's nice and sunny. However, after 4pm there is a $8 cover, there is no where to sit, a long line at the bar and the music is so loud you can't even have a conversation. If you want to eat, go before 2pm or you are wasting your time and you'll pay $8 to spend your time gettng out of everybody's way--not fun. Pros: Sunny, Parking Easy, Nice Change Cons: Standing Room Only, Noisy more

Go for the drinks and sun - skip the hamburger. 5/11/2005

Their hamburger, which was good several years ago, now is never cooked correctly. Also, the hamberger meat tastes bad, like they added breading or something to it. Pros: Sunshine, People watching Cons: Service, Food more

Excellent Brunch spot! 5/8/2005

This is a great spot for a weekend brunch, weekday lunch or dinner. The service is incredibly friendly and helpful. The food is tasty and offers a great selection of sandwiches/burgers/fish & beer. It has a very neighborly feel to it. Sit out on the patio on a nice hot day and you'll be rewarded with a fantastic view of the bay. Pros: Beer selection, Friendly service, Tasty food more

No big deal 8/15/2004

On a nice day, it is indeed pleasant to sit and nurse a beer, maybe have some nachos. But if you want a satisfying meal, go somewhere else. The weekend BBQ scene has a middle-aged frat party vibe and the BBQ food is bland and very over-priced. The servers are nice enough. Pros: Parking is fairly ez, Scenery Cons: , Blah food more

Nice on a sunny afternoon 10/6/2003

Not a bad place fror drinks on a sunny afternoon. Weekdays are good but the wekeends can be crowded and long waits for a table are not uncommon. Fortunately there is a bar where you can sit and knock back a frew drinks with you wait. The waiters allways try to push the margaritas on you but I don't thnk they are all that great. The food is mediocre burgers and frys but I don't really go there to eat. more

Not Impressed 8/21/2003

The food here is subpar at best and the service is terrible. I guess if you really like outdoor seating then head on down to this lousy area. I don't really understand why it's still in biz. Pros: outdoor seating, plenty o' parking Cons: food, service more

The weather is always good 4/24/2003

The Ramp is by far and away the best place in San Francisco when the weather is good. The best kept secret is that the weather there is good most of the time, even when the rest of the city is fogged in. I have gone there anticipating sitting inside because it was cold and windy where my office is located. To my surprise it was warmer there than anywhere else in the city. I wish they mounted a camera with a website link so that I can check the weather at the Ramp daily. Pros: summer eye candy, improved menu, atmosphere Cons: needs expanding, getting too popular, secret is out more

my fave sunny spot 2/6/2003

I was surprised to see some of the comments! Yes, you have to wait for a table, expect that. But there is no better place in the City on a sunny day. The blue cheeseburger is killer, as are the bloody marys. I highly recommend the ramp, I have been there dozens of times and never had a bad experience. Pros: inexpensive, great atmosphere Cons: crowded more

best sunday spot 10/23/2002

best atmoshpere for a nice sunny day..good parking and sundays has amazing live music!! more

Best Outdoor Drinks! 9/13/2002

We sat there in the sun, by the water, for over 4 hours. It was fantastic - staff is friendly, food is decent, drinks are great. more

Over fried fries and chips 8/19/2002

The fish and chips were extremely over fried and crispy like potato chips. When we started to eat our fish there was a piece about 1 inch square in all the batter. What a rip off. We threw some to the pigeons flying around and even the pigeons had a hard time chewing the food. The hostess and bartender were nice. Our waitress was a little snooty. All in all the quality has gone down here. How sad as it used to be one of my favorite summertime hangouts. Pros: near the water Cons: pigeons, food quality more

Best for Drinks on a Sunny Day 8/18/2002

I don't think I've ever gone here specifically to eat, but it is the best place to go on a rare sunny day in SF. The outdoor area is sizeable and they have good margaritas! more

A mini-vacation 7/24/2002

I love this spot! Dancing outside with a live band near the bay is heaven. The people are friendly and it's what you make of it. Pros: outdoors, good music, live music Cons: windy, not enough seating more

sunday brunch 6/24/2002

My friend and I ate here on a cool Sunday morning. Our server was friendly and conversational, though, not exactly a speed demon. The food was typical brunch fare--eggs, toast etc. If you aren't in a rush and the weather is nice, this is a fine Sunday morning destination. Pros: nice view, full bar, smoke outside more
