Very Relaxing 11/30/2005

I head over to navy pier a couple of time each summer with my husband. Whether its the ferris wheel, boat tour, or just a nice stroll on the pier, this place is beautiful especially at night. We also go during the 4th of July to watch the fireworks. Parking might be hard to find but you can always take a cab. They also have a mini theatre for plays and plenty of food. There is also have several places for kids to have fun. more

Several Attractions! 10/16/2005

Navy Pier is an excellent place to visit in the summer. They have a ferris wheel, miniture golf, all types of boat tours, IMax Theater, and several other exhibits and shops. You can also just walk by the pier that looks over miles and miles of Lake Michigan. They also have different events throughout the year from fireworks night to several expo and boat exhibit. It is also very children friendly as they have a swing ride to childrens museum to build your own teddy bear workshop. A must see if you are visiting Chicago although Parking maybe more difficult to find. more

Great Place! 9/18/2005

The Navy Pier is a great place to spend the day or evening. They have great food and even better games and attractions. Another great feature is the stained glass museum there; they have some truly beautiful pieces in that exhibit. After walking around by the lake, you can watch the fireworks at night. more

Love Navy Pier 8/31/2005

We love to spend an afternoon hanging out at Navy Pier. There are usually some fun events going on, always a lot to see in the shops. Good food to eat. There is a Children's Museum that is amazing, the Imax theatre, and our favorite is the rooftop garden. Just beautiful. We also love to walk outside and check out the skyline and the boats. You can make it a free day by walking around and taking it all in if you want. Saturday's in the summer there are great free fireworks! Such fun entertainment! more

Chicago commerical style 8/20/2005

I used to swing dancing at the Beer Garden in the summer, and those are probably my fondest memories of Navy Pier. It’s a very touristy place to take anyone wanting to take in the commercial side of Chicago. There’s always a lot to see at the Pier. If I’m there and it’s nice outside, I usually try to get a round of mini-golf in and then go on a ride on the ferris wheel. They have fireworks on Wednesday and Saturday in the evening, so try to get a ride on the ferris wheel then. more

Navy Pier 8/20/2005

When you have family or friends coming to town, this is where you go. There are a lot of things to see there, including the beautiful Chicago skyline. There are also plenty of restaurants (both casual and expensive), so you won't go hungry. And there are many shops and boutiques there as well. There are several boats docked here too, and you can go on a lunch or dinner cruise in the day or the evenings. Your family and friends can also take a ride on a really, really tall ferris wheel, which also gives people a really great view of downtown Chicago and Lake Michigan. There is an Imax theater there now, too. And on Wednesday and Saturday nights they have a fireworks show. This is truly a great place to go. However, the parking is outrageous!!! more

Fun for the whole family...at a price. 8/20/2005

Navy Pier located in Chicago is fun for the whole family. There is so much to do there. Miniature golf, the famous ferris wheel, concerts are held there, and so much more. When you get on that ferris wheel at night, you get a beautiful view of the city lights and the lake. Inside there is an imax theater. There are several restaurants and souvenir shops. Between the food, entertainment , parking, and other expenses it can put a pretty deep hole in your pocket. Every cent is worth it though. You can make unforgettable memories with your loved ones. more

Tourist Mecca Offers Some Fun 8/18/2005

Ok, it's your typical tourist trap...but there are still some great stuff for the locals, whether that be the Shakespeare Theatre, the Stained Glass Museum, rides on tall ships, or one of many special events held there throughout the year. Be prepared to do a lot of walking...the pier is long. You can stop for a drink or bite along the way. Events are ususally held at the end of the pier. A perennial favorite (all puns intended) is the annual Flower and Garden Show when the pier is transformed into several gardens. For a bird's eye view, try the ferris wheel; it's the real symbol of the pier. Be sure and schedule your trip for the fireworks, which happen twice a week in the summer. more

Navy Pier 8/13/2005

such a fun place to go and hang out! more

worthy to visit 8/10/2005

Navy Pier is located so a golden place, downtown Chicago and Lake Michigan. The architecture is Rome style. There are some interesting shops inside. You can see some people giving funny performance on the first floor. There is a cinema. You also can take a riverside tour or lake tour from Navy Pier. Riverside tour is a little expensive. The museum sucks. more

Nice place to take out of town relatives 8/9/2005

Navy Pier is located off of Lake Michigan. It has Childern's Museum, a Beer Brewery, and lots of little shops and restaurants. Also home to Bubba Gumps seafood restaurant made famous by the movie Forest Gump. there is a huge parking lot so don't worry about finding spots downtown. The view is magnificant, so i recommend to come here at least once in your lifetime. also there is a huge ferris wheel that i will have to ride in the near future. more

Fun Place 8/8/2005

Navy Pier is a fun place to go with your family or even with a date. The view of the city from atop the Ferris wheel is pretty good, especially at night when everything is lit up. The kids will love the IMAX theater, where they always have interesting movies playing. There are also plenty of shopping and dining opportunities. Overall, I wouldn't go here too often, but it is definitely worth doing at least once. more

Navy Pier 8/5/2005

Honestly, I"m not sure why Navy Pier exists. I suppose it's fashioned after boardwalks, but it's really nothing more than a poorly ventilated indoor mall, with the same fast food you can get everyplace else. There is the Children's Museum and Imax there, a few rides outside, but the only reason I can see for visiting the Pier is if you've done everything else in Chicago and just want to go someplace new. If you're a tourist, you can find the same toursity stuff elsewhere in the city, without having to be in a toursity place. If you want to see boats, you can go to practically any spot along the lake. Save your time and your money and experience the city. more

Fun for the whole family! 8/5/2005

The pier used to hold flight exercises for the Air Force. According to the information desk, there are still crashed planes at the bottom of the lake to this day. But today it's just a great attraction for the family: kiosks, shops (love the Build-a-Bear) and a good food court with options. Joe's Be-bop has great Southern food and live jazz. The Ferris Wheel can be seen from miles away, and the upper deck has many rides. There's an enclosed botanical garden, the site of many a wedding reception. The Shakespeare Theatre is, for some reason, housed nearby. The Skyline Stage is a covered, open space that hosts many great acts in the summer months. Fireworks every Wednesday (9:30) and Saturday (10:15) from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Free admission is the best part: just hang out and get a great view of the Chicago skyline! more

A Fun Place! 7/25/2005

You have not really experienced Chicago to its fullest until you have been to Navy Peir. This place is so much fun anytime you go! They have so much to do here from boat rides to shopping. People of all ages are sure to enjoy all Navy Pier has to offer. My personal favorite is the ferris wheel which gives an amazing view of the city! There's also a grea IMAX theater at the pier. And of course there's lots of foood here -- from the famous Chicago-style pizza to some great seafood! Make sure you check this one out! more

Entertainment in the city 7/19/2005

I personally don't go to Navy Pier but if you have friends visiting out of town it could be a fun place to go to. If they have kids, there is also a children's museum area. It gets a bit expensive considering you have to pay for parking as well. They do have great live music playing mostly during the summer. Winters are fun because they set up an ice-skating rink as well. more
