Gregg was superb in customer service. That's the really what this comes down to. Yes, Nick was nice up front (and great with communication). Yes, Gregg's brother made and maintains a great website. But, what made me enjoy my engagement ring search the most was having a jeweler that listened to me, created a beautiful ring, and followed up in all areas of the transaction. Gregg wanted to meet my fiance after she got the ring, ensure size, and clear up any loose ends, though there weren't any. I'd recommend Mr. Helfer to anyone, hands down the best decision I've made in a long time.

Chidexx is the only way to do business. The pricing transparency is unique. There is full disclosure of the vendor price and the brokerage fee. After all my Wabash shopping and internet research these guys have no competition. Shari provides really good unbiased perspective. Shari found strong performing diamonds for our examination. She spent the time we needed to understand what we were buying. No pressure. She has a great sense of humor. Fun to work with. The ring design experience was exciting. Shari engages you in the design process. She explores different geometries to feature the diamond. Shari takes design to a different level. Her designs are unique. Shari is unique. What I can only imagine is the best bridal boutique in Chicago, ah, White Chicago. From the moment we entered the subterranean, clean modern showroom we were completely delighted. All glass and white lacquer, and complete with a place for your shoes and a selection of fresh white socks. My entourage and I called ahead and asked if we could celebrate with some bubbly. Not only was the woman on the phone courteous, but she invited us to come early and enjoy one of their private lounges while we toast. We popped the cork and toasted and began dress shopping the way it was meant to be. While sitting on the white modern sofa, in the all white room, I handed out small cards to each of my best friends asking them to be my bridesmaids, "check yes or no." It was so adorable. I have a picture of each carefully checking yes. Then myself and a few of the ladies were invited back to their gallery to take a look at their selection of new samples, and once wed dresses. The selection was fresh and designer, and most of all gorgeous. Even my ring left happier after a fresh cleaning!
I tried on each dress and walked the catwalk before the ladies, and it was super fun. The saleswoman even suggested I show off the ones I didn't love, so that my friends could at least see them. She understood that it was all about the experience, not just the dress. Each gown had things to love and like. But in the end, it was the last one that won my heart. I had actually seen it on the bride before me as she pranced down the catwalk in it. I can't imagine what she thought when we all pointed and screamed, that's the dress! Thank you White Chicago for such an amazing, and perfect experience!

I took my engagement ring and wedding band into Steve Quick Jeweler's to have it updated and redone. I was amazed by the level of service, Dana was exceptional in explaining different options and price points. By the time I left my ring with them I felt completely comfortable with my decision. They definitely under promise and over deliver - my ring was done earlier than had expected and was absolutely AMAZING. All of this at a very affordable price.
I would highly recommend Steve Quick Jeweler's!!

I went to a bunch of different retailers such as Rogers & Hollands, Helzberg and felt completely uncomfortable. I was not going to be forced into a purchase of an overpriced diamond. After those painful visits I decided to hop online to yelp and other sites to see what people thought about different shops. Turned out to be an excellent idea, and that's why I'm posting up here as well.
Wally is great at Chicago Diamond Experts. He met with me multiple times, even though I stayed late and made him late to some of his other plans. He gave me the education on diamonds and showed me all of the options within my price range. Ended up with a beautiful ring that I wanted and my fiance couldn't be happier. If you were like me, a young guy in his twenties and don't know where to start, give Wally a call and stop by. You won't be disappointed that you did.

Wonderful set of women offered me great service at this store. Supurb selection, I've never seen so many gowns in one place. SO CLEAN (gowns and store)! Prices and service was phenominal. Felt pampered and catered to. Reasonable alterations and very timely. Found my gown on the first visit after searching high and low all over Chicago and suburbs. Highly recommend this store to all brides. You won't be sorry.

I was looking to do something special for my engagement on the ring side. I was referred to Ethan Lord through one of my co-workers. Her husband had designed her ring there and had raved about the experience.
I came in shortly after that and met with the owner of the company who walked me through their business and production facilities to give me an idea of how a ring was made all the way from the original drawings. This was a really fun and interesting perk as I really had no idea how it was done.
I was soon in touch with Larry who operates the Ethan Lord office.
The ring I had in mind wasn't really something too common in the engagement ring space. All I had was a lousy drawing on a piece of printer paper as I'm no artist. Larry turned this over to his ring designers who drew it up in CAD for me to see before moving on further. The computer rendered images were exactly what I was looking for. After confirming the drawings were what I wanted they moved on with creating the ring for me with the stones I had chosen with Larry's help. I next got to see a wax replica of the ring in order to confirm 100% that was what I wanted before they actually produced it with the metal. This gave a great idea of what the ring was actually going to look like size wise. After this, they actually made the ring for me.
Another huge plus here was that me, though I had done a little research, I was no diamond expert. Larry took the time to walk me through all of the necessary information I needed to know to make an informed decision about the stone I chose for the ring. He even gave me a short lesson on how to loupe a stone (look for the problems in it with the Jeweler's magnifying glass).
Not only did the ring come out exactly as I envisioned it, but it appraised for 50% more than I paid for it which, though I have no intention of selling it, proved I got far more than what I paid for.
I recently went back and my fianc?e and I ordered both of our wedding bands here and again the process went along just as smoothly.
I can't say enough good things about Ethan Lord. If you need any piece of jewelry, go here and you will NOT be disappointed.

Went here to shop for stones for an engagement ring. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable. Carlee, Heather and Fahmina were outstanding and went out of their way repeatedly to help educate me on the process as well as to ensure that I was happy with the ring and the stones we'd selected.
Would recommend to anyone who is in the market for diamonds - they do great work!

This was my third visit to Trousseau. I started shopping here two years ago after an employee at Victoria's Secret told me I "must be too heavy to wear their bras" and that's why nothing looked good (I'm a size 10). I love how the employees at Trousseau are determined to find something for you that looks and feels good. I recommend this shop to all my ladies!
