Best

These homemade pasta delicacies will melt in your mouth. The sauce is fresh tomato-y and suculent.

Pizza in a nicer setting 5/24/2006

This is one of those places where you can have pizza in a more formalish setting. By formal, I don't mean a five star restaurant, but rather a place with a better decor and better service than Domino's. The pizza here is pretty good and they also have many other things to try out here. They have lots of pasta dishes on their menu and salads and breads as well. The staff is pretty nice and they get things done pretty fast. I like to come here for a bit nicer setting to have a good slice of pizza at. more

Best Location 5/24/2006

This is my favorite Pompeii's location; it is usually filled with young people, the staff are super nice (and more energetic than at other sites), and the food is tasty. The salads are large and pair well with the square slices of pizza. I also like that most of the food is on display so you know what's fresh! Overall, great "fast-food" Italian. Also, just down the street, there is the best Italian ice stand--check it out! more

Student 5/24/2006

This location for Pompei is always crowded with the likes of college students from all of the surrounding schools. It makes the restaurant atmosphere a little relaxed, and fun to get some appropriately costing, proportionately tasting, quickly prepared, sometimes healthy, sometimes not so healthy food to reheat after each dining experience food. more

Incredible Stomboli 4/11/2006

When I worked downtown, my office used to order from Pompei at least once per week. They have very good stromboli... I think that this is the best that I have ever had. I always had a hard time deciding which variety I wanted, since all of them were good. They have really fast service. Most of the time, we would place a delivery order and it would arrive in about 30 mins. There were times too when we would walk over and only had to stand in line for about 5 mins. or so. This is super fast for a hustling lunch rush. If you are in the area, pop in and give them a try... you will love the taste and the price won't break your wallet. more

Italian Food 3/16/2006

Pompei is a good Italian restaurant to check out. It is especially good if you are with a big group of people who all want different things. Pompei is very cafeteria style, so you get to choose form a variety of foods. You can get pizza, pasta, sandwhiches. You name it and they have it. It is a fun and casual place to go and they do have some great options here. Plus, make sure to check out their dessert selection. The chocolate brownies are really good here! more

Fast Italian Food 3/16/2006

This is a good place to have fast Italian Food. It is not an Italian fine dining, but the food is decent. A lot of medical worker from surrounding medical district go there to have lunch, also a lot of cops and students enjoying their meal there. I like their clam chowder but they don't have it often as their soup of the day. Other than that nothing is really that special from this place, but I wonder why I go there often. Maybe a good place to hang out ? more

Italian food 2/19/2006

This is a great place to go for a good meal. They offer lots of different Italian food choices here and all of them are at pretty reasonable prices. They have a whole array of items here, including the most popular pizzas and pastas. i also really enjoy the desserts here; last time I had the chocolate cake, which was super rich and super yummy. This is a great place to take the entire family too because everybody can find something to eat on their menu. more

Good service with a smile! 1/15/2006

Pompei has some really good Italian food. The restaurant has a nice decor. The pizza is like the main thing ordered. I really liked the Linguini pasta when they had it as a special. Don't get me wrong they make some good pizza. Stretchy cheese and everything! They are very strict with "reservations" and the staff doesn't liked being talked to like children or like they are ignorant. Be kind and their food will be kind to you. It's not cheap here, you might pay like a $3 more than other places. They also deliver and they don't take long! more

Great food at a Decent Price 12/12/2005

Pompei is one of those places you don't know how great it is until you're taking the first bite of the daily pasta or calzone. The daily pasta is the best. For $6.95 or less, its usually someehting like seafood pasta with mussles or linguini in clam sauce. It is absolutely delicious. Best of all, Pompei delivers super fast and doesn't charge you an exorbitant amount for it. more

Awesome Food, Decent Service, Fast Delivery 11/28/2005

Pompei has some really good food for those that love Italian. The restaurant is beautiful and the pizza is generally the norm. I especially love the pasta however, and their pasta of the day is usually a really good deal. Sometimes they have a Linguini pasta with clam sauce as the Pasta of the Day and that in itself is heaven in a bowl. My only qualm with Pompei is the service. On one particular occasion, my friends arrived rather late in the evening and ordered an Italian beef with fries. Instead of telling us they did not have any more fries, they gave them a bowl of cold pasta instead (which tasted terrible). They refused to give them another alternative nor a refund for the fries that never arrived. Minor issue but they never forgot that. They also deliver really fast, especially in the tri-taylor vicinity. Of course, if you live around the area, you can walk there...but you'll be thankful in the middle of February. more

Super Fast Italian! 9/22/2005

Located on Taylor St., also known as Little Italy, you'd think Pompei would be swamped by the competition. It is and it isn't. You wouldn't go to Pompei if you were looking for a relaxing, time-consuming sit-down meal with authentic Italian food. If you wanted great quality Italian food fast, then look no further. Definitely worth the money. more

Good food at a resonable price. 8/9/2005

I love the food. I've eaten everything on the menu twice! I know personally that the food is fresh and the cheesecake with raspberry sauce is to die for. Gnocchi baked with tomatocream sauce is my favorite. If you are looking for good italian food at a reasonable price on Taylor St. in Chicago...Pompei is the place. They have everything from pasta to salads. more
