...no one is really sure why they are so popular, they just are. Close to Wrigley, this place is definitely a draw before, during, and after Cubs games, but at other times of the year - not so much. Way too cheesy to be taken seriously. The beer is overpriced, the staff could clearly care less, and overall, not worth it.

This blues venue is probably one of my favorite places to go in Chicago. The bar itself is very small, which lends an extremely intimate feel between patron and performer. The wait staff is old school, non-BS, but definitely speedy and efficient. The drink prices are a tad overpriced, but overall, it is still worth the trip. Parking is terrible - either cab it or use public transportation.

The beer specials are excellent, and the service is pretty good, non-stuff, laid-back kind of way. A nice place to chill.

...pretty boring. This is definitely a place that used to be a seen and be seen type of joint, but it has definitely struggled in the past few years. The drinks are overpriced, even for Lincoln Park, but the food is much better than your average bar fare. The service was unmemorable. Parking is difficult, so definitely look into a cab or public transportation.

Avoid this place like the plague. The bar really only comes alive after the rest of the bars in the area closes, and for good reason, by that time you are way too drunk to realize how unbelievably bad this place really is. The bar is the size of shoebox, yet the door people insist on cramming more inside, the drinks are watered down and way overpriced, and you need an iron lung to survive the haze of smoke.

...avoid on the weekend. The crowd during the weeks seems to be a tad bit older, more professional crowd that enjoys a calm beer and good burger after a long day at work. On the weekends, it is way to crowded and loud, while the service far to slow to keep up, to really enjoy the place. The drink specials during the week are excellent. Would definitely return.

...to people watch? This is an excellent place to do it, especially from their rather large patio (nice weather permitting, of course). The food was pretty average for my taste, and the price was about what I would expect. The portions are decent sized, and the service friendly. Parking is difficult in that neighborhood, especially on the weekends, so either take a cab or valet.
