If you are ever in pike market, you gotta stop by here. If you are visiting seattle, you've got to go here. They are super famous for Piroshky, which is pastries - with cheese, spinach, or ham or cinnamon. As you walk towards it, you'll smell the aroma and usually there is always a line. So soft and flavourful! Hmmm Yumm-o! Grab one Piroshky and cup of coffee from Starbucks, and you are set for lunch. They have different kinds of Piroshky, my favorite is the cheese spinach. This store is very famous and lots of news paper coverage. But they still do the business the old fashion, and never left their roots like many stores that got destroyed with fame. The owners have a really good background story to this and that just makes everything even more meaningful. more

Yummy, yummy! 5/2/2006

This is one of my favorite spots to grab lunch on a sunny day downtown. It's hard to choose a favorite - as everything I've tried has been good. I really like the chicken, rosemary, rice and mushroom pastry and the garlic and cheese rolls - and the granny smith apple piroshky is great too. A nice touch is the tip jar onthe counter, which reads, "The cold war is over. We appreciate your change." more

Delicious food 4/20/2006

I love going to the market for lunch and this is a great stop. They have many different kinds of pastries, both sweet and savory so you can stop by for lunch, or just a special treat. And they've been known to give them out free of charge at the end of the day once in a while. Definately try to work it into your trip to Pike's Place one day. more

Great Pastries 3/17/2006

This little place across the main drag from Pikes Place market has some really good pastries. The apple pastries are wonderfully cinnamon, but the absolute best thing they have is this cheddar cheese roll. Now, it looks great, but you've got to taste it! Wonderfully cheesy! Don't leave the store without trying one of these! Whatever you buy, you've got to eat within 24 hours though, or it tends to get a little hard & needs to be warmed up. more

Delicious Pirogy heaven 8/3/2005

The vegetarian selection here is almost always excellent. Their borsht is delicious and they have a small selection of really good desserts too. Although I have never eaten their meat pockets, I have heard they are just as good as the vegetarian ones. I recommend anything with mushrooms, but all are good. Make sure to ask them to heat your pocket up, it's much better that way. great on the go! more
