Lucky Fortune Seafood Restaurant

Just had lunch for two at Lucky Fortune Restaurant. We tried the chilli peppers (capsicums) with black bean & chilli oil, stir fried brisket with baby eggplant and chilli, and Hunan style crisp belly pork with chillies. We ate all the dishes with rice, Chinese style. The first dish, with its wok-blistered yellow and red chilli peppers and fried green chiilies, had a delicious flamboyance that was tempered by the smoky salty black beans and chilli oil. The brisket was tender and tasty, though a tad dry. The third dish consisted of melt-in-your-mouth belly pork morsels with chillies on a bed of diced snake beans. The fire of a hot wok was evident in the pork. The service was efficient and friendly. Lucky Fortune Chinese Restaurant is definitely worth a pilgrimage if you're a red hot chilli lover. more

the food was great, the crab was cheap and tasted great. the food was pretty excellent. but what ruined it for me was the waitress, she was there alone but we were the only table. she took incrediably long to get to us, and looked like we were bothering her when we asked for extra drinks and sauces. This just to show that no matter how great the food is, bad service will ruin it. Pros: Good Food Cons: Bad Service more

While the service was fast and the servers friendly, I am not coming here again because of the food. The soup was just broth with a handful of big red chunks of beef. It made me go vegetarian! The chicken in the cashew chicken was so oily and had such a synthetic texture, I could hardly touch it. We left having eaten hardly anything off of our plates. Maybe it was our own fault. I have passed by this restaurant a hundred times like all of the other Chinese restaurant in the Richmond district. Recently I actually went in for dinner with my folks.The first moment I walked in I was friendly greeted and seated and the waiter was very professional with letting us know what was the dinner special. It was nice that they had a wide selection of dishes to choose from. Like any typical family we had fish, chicken, crabs, shrimp and veggies. When I finally tried the food I was convinced that the restaurant was what every one was raving about AFFORDABLE & EATABLE. That wasnt the biggest surprise yet, until I had the mango pudding dessert I was swept off my feet. The whole dinner was FANTASTIC.Now I know if I want to entertain my guess to great Chinese food, Lucky Fortune is at the top of my list.
