screwed me 10/6/2010

I could write a book about my experience with Logic Approach. I should just say, I feel like these guys screwed me over quite a bit. I took a sick computer there, told them the ethernet port was possibly bad. $75 dollars later they told me a windows reinstall was the real problem. I argued but they insisted that they checked everything else. I picked it up and reinstalled windows. Same problem. Called back, they said they would take another look at it. Took it back up there and yeah, they'll take another look at it, for $75. Dudes were indifferent and acted like I was a computer illiterate moron. Stormed out, took it elsewhere. They replaced the ethernet port, problem solved. Please don't go here for repairs... more

Worst customer service ever. 8/24/2010

At one time, long ago, Logic Approach was the only place I shopped for parts, as I will go out of my way and knowingly pay extra at locally-owned businesses. There's just so far you can go, though. Every employee I've interacted with in the last 5 years has been indifferent at best. I went in when they were still on Lamar, about a year ago, needing a new dc jack on a laptop motherboard. I walked in and two employees were talking, I waited, they continued to talk, about nothing remotely work-related, and finally they paused and looked in my direction. No greeting, no ""can we help you"". I finally asked if they could put a new dc jack on my motherboard, and as one of them shook his head the other just said ""200 bucks"". ????? I pointed out last was a little pricey for soldering on a 15 dollar jack, and all he had to say was ""Go somewhere else, then."" Wow. Then just last week I needed a specific replacement fan, so just out of habit I called them. I said I needed a replacement fan, and read him the model number, and he asked me what size it was, I told him, and he said ""Yeah, I got that."" I went to get it, it didn't look like the right one, so I asked what the return policy was if it didn't fit and he said 30 days and a 20% restocking fee, but he was sure it would fit. I bought it and now it's not even CLOSE to the right size and the plug is nothing like the plug on the old one. This idiot just heard ""I need a replacement fan, blah-blah-blah 3 1/2 inches"" and he just sold me a generic fan having nothing to do with what I needed. I will never, never, EVER patronize them and I strongly recommend you do not either. Fortunately they've now moved to a very hard-to-find location, probably because they getting tired of having to deal with all those irritating customers. more

Still the best 4/12/2010

The guys at Logic Approach Computers have always been helpful to me and my family. We bought several computers and tons of parts there. When something does go wrong they have always been willing to make it right . I can't get that kind of service anywhere else. I send all of our business computers there for repair. Thanks guys - you rock! Pros: Helpful and friendly more

Horrible experience 10/15/2009

Never again, stay away from these guys. They have another store under a different name and they post identical glowing reviews for both of them. They don't seem to be able to get a good review based on their quality of service. If you want a good place to go, go to computer medic. They are super and cleaned up my logic approach mess. Cons: You name it. more

Always been there for me 9/5/2008

I have been shopping at this local store for about 10 years. I must say that each time I come in I am greeted immediately and helped. This is unheard of for any tech retail store. I buy parts for my clients here as well as for myself. The store has been remodeled recently and looks great. They actually carry lots of stuff for a seemingly small space. You never know what you will find on sale, so I check often - lately they have had killer prices on Hard Drives - even beating Fry's (and that is hard to do). You can't really go wrong - they have been around for a long time and have always been helpful to me even when problems arise. Pros: Local, convenient, quality advice, good folk more

Go to Fry's or Office Depot instead! 4/18/2008

I bought a used DDR memory card only to get home and realize they had given me the wrong type. When I returned to the store to exchange the item, they did not have one in stock new or used. I asked for a refund and was told of a 20% ""restocking fee"". I complained stating that I had been sold the wrong item - how was it fair to charge me for their mistake? They would not concede at all. The boy behind the counter was smug and seemed indifferent to my dissatisfaction. I will not go back there. As it goes, I was able to buy a brand new memory card with twice the space for less at Office Depot. Pros: Location Cons: Lousy refund policy. Staff immature. Prices higher than elsewhere more

An Austin treasure 5/3/2007

One would be so lucky to find a computer store like this! It is a gem! We shop at Logic Approach all the time - we bought our computers here, our children's computers here and we recommend all of our friends. The employees are so eager to help and you can tell that they love what they are doing. A rare find. Thanks Logic Approach! Pros: Nice people, Top-notch repair, great prices, carryout services Cons: Wish there was one closer to me more

Very impressed! A+++++ 5/3/2007

Called first and got a live person who could advise me after a few rings (compared to Dell where I waited on hold for 30 minutes). Brought my notebook in after 1yr-old splashed some lemonade on it. One of the Logic Approach techs had the computer diagnosed and fixed within 48 hours! On top of that I found many deals throughout the store!! Pros: Service, Prices, more

Best place. Ever. 3/13/2007

Logic Approach operates on a more advanced level than your everday Circuit City tech squad gigs. The repair technician there is excellent... incredibly knowledgeable, always has fast turn around time and my problems are always fixed. I never have to go back for the same issue. They are reasonably priced, extremely accomodating, eager for my business, and always thorough. I only trust Logic Approach to handle my issues and upgrades because they do an outstanding job. Pros: Knowledgeable Staff, Great Prices, Service more

NOT VERY LOGICAL AT ALL 2/20/2007

Never, ever, ever buy a refurbished computer from Logic Approach. Cons: poor parking, poor service more

Its alot better now!!!! 12/9/2005

I've been going there for a few years and its had its ups and downs. The customer service hasn't been all that great. I stopped in to see what they had and i was extremely shocked at the professional attitude and knowledge that some of the new employees had. When I asked for a product, they walked me to the product and showed me different kinds of what they had. He even asked me what it was for and made some recommendations, and for a non-computer geek, it really helped. I also, had my computer checked in for service, and not only did they have it done in a day, it didnt cost me an arm and a leg. Excellent computer technicians. Way to turn things around guys! Pros: Inexpensive, Knowledgable Techs, Customer Service Cons: Small Parking lot more

don't 'make things right' 8/19/2005

Bought a monitor here, they forgot to put the cable in the box. Their solution: get back in my car and drive all the way down there. This is not the first time buying stuff from them required multiple trips. If it were my business and I cared about customer satisfaction I would say, ""I am so sorry that was my mistake. We will drop a new cord by your house."" That would be the fairest thing to offer. Pros: cheap crap Cons: bad attitude, customer no-service more

Great place for Computer parts 8/17/2005

Very friendly folks at Logic Approach. Seems that they keep getting new inventory weekly so I can't help but check back regularly. Very convenient and quite honestly there is no better place to get a computer part for cheap. Pros: Good Prices, Friendly, Good Selection Cons: Small Parking Lot more

I Miss the Old Ways 2/5/2005

This used to be my favorite store. Now that there's a new owner they have fewer choices and I always get the impression I am interrupting the guy from surfing the web whenever I walk through the door. I asked if they had a product, but instead of getting up out of his seat and searching the bins, the guy said ""No."" I shuffled and got what I was looking for. As for the used hardware, they don't have the drivers. ""Where do I get it?"" I asked. ""Look on a website,"" he gruffed, turning back to his web-surfing. I gave them 4 different chances. It's not a fluke...it's a new policy. The people that used to work there could tell me everything I needed to know. I miss them. It used to be my favorite store, and now they're worse than Office Depot. Go somewhere else for your stuff. more
