I have been to Julia's many times, and it is usually a pleasant experience. Most of their dinners are very tasty; I recommend you order the special (it's usually something delicious from the chef) or the Chicken Forestiere. Breakfasts are okay, but their dinners are much better. The dining room features a lot of dark wood and they have some beautiful chandeliers that light the restaurant. There is also a bar that you can sit at. Their specialty drinks a bit pricey, and they're not big enough to make them a good value. Dinner prices are reasonable. The entire establishment is no smoking. Two sides of the dining room have full windows, with one side looking out to Broadway. In the summer they have outdoor seating on both Broadway and E Thomas St. They have live music on the weekends, usually jazz or blues, with no cover charge. There is also a Baby Grand piano that is played on certain weeknights, sometimes with live singers. I've had many pleasant dinners here and would definitely recommend Julia's. However, there have been some visits that were problematic in terms of slow service. Once we visited during Happy Hour and were not given the Happy Hour menu. We ordered burgers and were charged full price (even though the sign on the window read "Happy Hour - $3 Burgers"). The waitress stated that the $3 price is only for burgers ordered off the Happy Hour menu. The waitress should have offered us the Happy Hour menu when she seated us. If you like live jazz or blues, then Julia's is a nice place just to hang out in the lounge area and enjoy some drinks.
