This place is great! You choose your own mix-ins to go with ice cream/yogurt/sorbet. While I love the options for new flavors, I always seem to stick to the same combination, but I always leave happy. This place is much better than the other chains with the same gimmick-- better ice cream, staff, pricing, and quality.

This place has my favorite pizza in the city. Seattle is not known for great pizza, and this is the best one I've found. No wimpy crusts or tasteless sauces can be found here... the toppings are generous and I've always been happy with my meal. An added bonus is that it's located right next to a theater, making for the perfect evening out.

This place is one of my favorite places to eat in Seattle. They are a nice change of pace from the usual bean and rice burritos. The location is great- right on the water by UW. I get really excited about the yam tacos and margaritas. My only wish is that they would serve better chips with their awesome salsa. (they taste like tostitos). There is often a line when they first open, so plan accordingly, especially on a sunny day. Sometimes the take-out window is the best option and you can go sit outside. As you can guess from the name, they also rent boats of some sort, but I've never gotten that far ;)

This restaurant never fails to satisfy. It's sister (by the same name) is famous in Seattle, and I was delighted to find it on the Eastside. The service is always spectacular and the food is well presented and affordable. This is a fun place to bring visitors, or anyone interested in trying something new. Their lunch specials are the way to go. My only wish is for some more veggie options, but the ones they offer are awesome.

I expected Julias on Broadway to be the same quality as the one in Wallingford, but have been disappointed each time. The restaurant looks inviting and the menu seems pretty good. Unfortunately, it doesn't live up to it's image and service is not the best. There are many other options on Broadway and my suggestion is to visit them instead. Maybe I've just had bad luck there, but I'm not willing to give it another chance.

Pabla is a great vegetarian oasis in a sea of strip malls! It's located across from the big Fred Meyer in Renton and serves an entirely veggie menu. It's a branch of the Pabla located in downtown Seattle. Their buffet lunch is awesome and always includes yummy desserts for your sweet tooth. If you are going for dinner, the food is high quality and the servings are large. There is also an Indian grocery store convieniently located right next door.

The Spice Rack on University Way is one of the best Indian places in town. I'm always surprised that there is not a line of people waiting outside of this place! Maybe it's just an undiscovered gem.. (or the neighborhood is overly saturated with this cuisine!)
The vegetarian options are awesome and the service is always friendly and prompt. Their lunch buffet has a lot of variety and I always appreciate the fresh naan delivered right to your table. The last time I checked, they will match their competitors' coupons if you bring them in.

Have some gently used baby/children's clothes, toys, or other items? Consider donating them to Eastside Baby Corner. They distribute items to fill the wish lists of social service providers who then give the items directly to clients in need. I have used this resource for over two years as a social service provider, and highly recommend it to others. They have very specific drop-off times, so call ahead of time. Their warehouse location is in Issaquah, which is a little bit of a drive from Seattle, but very easy to find-- and you'll be glad you did!

Last White Elephant is an awesome find! Their motto is 'compassion in fashion' and It's a thrift store that donates proceeds to animal rights. Over the past few years, Last White Elephant has become more and more organized. While it's certainly lost some of the 'bare bones' grass roots feel, it is still a nice alternative to Goodwill or Value Village. The prices are more than reasonable, and if you are in the market for a new vegan/vegetarian bumper sticker or tee shirt, this is the place! (If you are driving, watch out for the parking restrictions on 65th)
