Took my BMW 530i in for body work on both left doors. As usual, Allstate low-balled the repair estimate. Paul explained to me that BMW metallurgy is different and if you're picky, you don't just want it hammered out and bondoed. He said he'd take care of getting the insurance company to adjust the estimate. Shop work was excellent! more

I had scratches on my car with pain being chipped off. I went to Collision 1 at roosevelt and they gave me an estimate of 700 bucks... total ripoff. Paul helped me to fix my car for free last time, and now he initially was going to do it for free but i felt i owed him and pressed him for a sum at least. He told me 25 bucks which was wayy less then Collision 1. I tipped him another 25 bucks. Now the question to many is how bad was the workmanship? Trust me, it isn't my car looks brand new, Always make the extra effort to go to his shop. He's really the man more

Good: New owner is Paul Yoshihara, who worked for the former owner who retired. Paul's service (estimating, working with insurer) was excellent and the body work was great. He is easy to deal with and very professional. The reviews of the old H&I were high, and they may deserve to be a little higher now.. Bad: It took a bit to be able to clearly understand the woman who answers the phone (Asian accent). But she is also very good to work with.. more

Wow!! I had a interesting situation where my car had been hit 3 times each represented by a different insurance company. H & I worked/negotiated with all 3 companies to make sure the car was fixed correctly (the estimates missed quite a few items that needed repair) and that I had a rental car for the entire time of the work. They emailed me with updates along the way to keep me up on any changes to the plan. All the repairs look incredibly good. When sighting along both sides of the car it is straight and true. In the end the car turned out great, in fact we feel like we are driving a brand new car (as an added bonus they detailed the interior of the car before we picked it up). This is a place where the owners really take pride in their work. Anyway do not hesitate to use this place. A++++ more

John and his staff at H&I automotives were great to work with. The process went very smoothly and John kept me updated with the progress of the body work. I was a little nervous when driving up to the garage as it looked a little run down, but these guys aren't interior decorators! They are good with what they specialize in: cars. I will go back to them if I ever need more work done. more

I choose H & I to repair my door and side panel after reading good reviews of it from Judy's Book and other similar online resources, and was very pleased with my results. The car looks great, and was finished in the time frame estimated to me. John Lioe gave me my estimate, and was exceedingly honest, he told me when he made an oversight that put an additional $50 on my estimate and immediately fixed it. After I'd paid, he called me and told me that there had been a last-minute change where a worker didn't have to take a piece off to paint, so saved me additional money on labor. They sent me a check for the difference. They do get busy, I was there at 8:30 AM two mornings, and each time they had about 4 people waiting and the phone ringing off the hook. They also sometimes open at 8:35 or 8:40, so if you go first thing in the morning be prepared to wait a little bit. I had to wait a week before I could schedule my car to go in, and it took 5 days to complete the work. Its a family-owned business, and every person I talked with was helpful and friendly. more

The only good thing about being in an auto accident is having your car fixed at H and I. It will come out looking better than it went in - plus derek and the gang are great to work with -efficient, timely, professional - I can't say enough about them. i had to coordinate picking up my car with the drop-off at the rental and they were able to tell me when my car would be ready, almost to the hour. again- you really would prefer NOT to have your car at the body shop but if you need to, you should really call H and I........ more

First a service van driver (first day on the job) bashed my headlights out while BACKING UP at a stop sign. Then his insurance company classified my well-kept, handsome car as a TOTAL LOSS citing the age of the vehicle (1991) and didn't settle for three whole months (Liberty Mutual!). Then another auto body shop informed me that it would cost $1100 more than insurance was willing to pay to get it into any kind of cosmetically tolerable shape. Boo hoo. And then a TRUSTWORTHY friend told me about H & I Automotive. They made my boo boo all better for an amazingly fair price, plus treated me like I was a FIRST-CLASS customer, calling me with progress reports and prices. I hope never to have to do business with them again because heaven help me that I'd have to revisit the hell of insurance -- but, if something ever does happen, I know I can absolutely trust H & I, and I'd recommend them to a dear friend any day, and I'm VERY PICKY. H & I turned a potentially cynical situation into a positive experience, restoring my faith in human kind. HOORAY! more

This family owned business was helpful from beginning to end. They helped arrange for a rental car, answered tons of questions about the quote and did the repairs quickly. more

I was recently in a fender-bender and went in to H & I for an estimate to repair the damages, and was really surprised and pleased at what a nice experience it was. I am used to car-repair stuff being stressful and a little bit sleazy feeling, but these guys (and gals) were really friendly and upfront and went out of their way to answer my questions and keep me informed of my options. I would absolutely recommend them and (while I hope I don't have to spend any more time in an auto body shop anytime soon!), I would go to them with full confidence in the future. more

i took my torn up car to h&i automotive after a reading about it on judy's book. they made it good as new (an impressive feat considering it was used when i bought it). they were very nice and very helpful. they answered any questions i had and actually worked with my insurance while i was there to get everything straightened out. more

When my girlfriend and I went to H & I after her car was stolen, they made the experience much better. They were friendly and could see us immediately after we called. In addition, they went over the whole car with us, positing why certain damage might have been done and giving us an initial estimate of time. Overall, we definitely had a very positive experience. more

I was in an accident and referred to H&I by a coworker. They were incredibly friendly and willing to accommodate my needs. The work was done quickly and the results were perfect. They were even able to locate and match some difficult to find aftermarket trim. You could not find a better body shop anywhere. A++++++ more

My mom found these guys after a fender-bender in her VW vanagon and raved for weeks after about what nice people they were, what a good job they did, and how fair their prices were. Based on her endorsement, we now have a list of family friends who have worked with H&I, and I have yet to hear a bad review. Their specialty seems to be cosmetic bodywork, so I can't speak for their other services, but if that's what you need, these are the guys to see. more

H&I is a family-owned auto-body business near Seattle U. They fixed the dent in my car and did a bang-up job. I hate hassles, and getting the estimate was easy, they did an excellent job, my car was ready on-time, they were super nice and the final bill was exactly the same as the estimate. I'd go back to them anytime. more
