Chesapeake Wine Company

If you're an aspiring wine connoisseur, then you will enjoy a trip to the Chesapeake Wine Company. Not only do they carry a fabulous selection of wines, but they also offer classes in wine appreciation! The classes are reasonably priced, and a good place to start if you're a wine novice like myself. The class I took was taught by the owner of the shop, who told us he personally tastes every wine in the store. Chesapeake Wine Company is located in the Can Company in Canton. They have a fairly good collection with some less expensive wines in the front of the store. I've had quite a few of these; while there have been no turkeys, only a handful of real finds has stood out. Otherwise, the store is well organized and you can find bottles in a range of prices. In addition to wine, the store also sells a good selection of beer and a small selection of spirits and food. There is also a wine bar with food on the premises, mostly serving a strong group of locals. The store is also dog friendly, which is an added plus as long as your dog gets along with other dogs and isn't inclined to knock bottles of the shelves with an overly enthuasiastic tail! more
