The key thing that makes this sporting goods store stand out is attention to fit. They take great care to match the right shoes to the customer, taking into account what the shoes will be used for, how the person walks or runs, and his or her particular way of walking or running. They are also active in the community, sponsoring local runs and the like. Additionally, they provide information about running clubs and races.

This small toy store in the heart of Fells Point specializes mostly in bears and dollhouses. The selection of stuffed animals is pretty good and children could end up spending hours in the store. Like other small stores in Fells Point, Grrrreat Bears Toys is packed to capacity with well chosen merchandise. Compared to big box or mall toy stores, the prices may be a little higher. However, your shopping experience is bound to be more enjoyable. Afterwords, you and the kids can take a stroll along Thames street, go for lunch, or even head straight to an ice cream break. Overall you won't be disappointed.

Given the conditions of the Harbor, Fells Point seems like the last place in the world that you would expect to find a surf shop. But here it is, smack dab in the middle of busy Thames Street. And it is actually not bad either. The emphasis seems to be on surf styles rather than being a serious sporting goods store. However you can expect a very good clothing and accessories collection here, with all of the major brands well represented. Even if you never make it to the beach this summer, upon entering the store you feel as if you are already half the way there. As far as prices go, I did not run into any real bargains. But on the other hand, I do not think that you will feel ripped off either. Overall, I think that this is a pretty fun shop worth checking out.

When I first moved here, I made the mistake of taking my clothing to one of those cheap by the pound kinds of dry cleaners. Everything came back over-starched and wrinkled. Then I read an excellent review of Anna Cleaners in Canton in Baltimore Magazine. I was not disappointed. For a fair price, they do an excellent job in a reasonable amount of time. I have never had any wrecked there. You can tell just from the way they return your clothes that they care about the way that they do business. I have also used them for alterations, and here too they do an excellent job. I would trust my most expensive clothing to them, no problem. I highly recommend this cleaner.

What I like most about the Urban Adventure company is that they make explicit something many of us have already caught onto: that many people who claim to love the outdoors are really making a fashion statement. Many people who drive SUVs will never go off-roading. I do not necessarily see this as a problem; if people want to communicate to others some sort of membership in an imagined community of shared values, why not let them shop in peace? This is not to say, of course, that people who really are into the outdoors cannot find what they are looking for at the Urban Adventure Company, but they may be able to find it for alot cheaper online or via some sort of hunting/fishing company (though one notes, the politics tend to be different).

Okay, so this is a vintage thrift store on Fleet Street in Fells Point. But it is not any old thrift store. The clothing has been carefully "pre-screened" and they have a good combination of so-called classic styles, hip and trendy now, and pure camp. Everything in the store is well organized and it is easy to find what you are looking for. I do not think that vintage store are generally as popular as they were say ten years ago, but this store strikes me as a pretty good one. Also, as you drive by the store on Fleet Street, they also put out very well dressed manequins, who show off some of their top styles. This gives potential customers a good idea of how to put an outfit together from vintage finds. The selection changes frequently so the store is worth a first and even a second look.

The Antique Man takes up several storefronts along Fleet Street in Fells Point. The store seems to sell everything under the sun, including a notable collection of giant statues. No, we are not talking David. Think more along the lines of Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, or a life size replica of a soldier who has perhaps recently returned from the war in Iraq. (Wouldn't you want someone like this guarding the entrance to your cubicle?) So who knows if you will find anything here that you would actually want to bring into you home? But on the other hand, why not stop by anyhow. It is like an amusement park in a way. Even the drive by view from Fleet Street is often entertaining,

If you are big into that hippie look, you should definitely check out this little shop in Fells Point. You will find a bunch of clothes, candles, and other. Perfect for college kids, as evidenced by the "Hemp Sold Here" sticker on the front door. Running a little low on incense too? No problem. Need more of those sweaters made in Nepal? No problem. Need another tapestry for your room? Got that too. They do accept credit cards.

Located in the heart of Fells Point, aMuse is a tiny store packed to the ceiling with lots and lots of cool toys for all ages. They have toys, puzzles, books and a ton of other fun trickets that you will not find at your local big box. Because it is small, it is also inviting and the salesperson will be happy to help you with any special requests and so forth. It is best to go in if you are not looking for something specific, but rather just want to discover what is there. It is a fun place for kilds and adults alike.
