Very Impressed 7/24/2011

I woke up to 2" of water in my basement yesterday and a non working sump pump. I called Bishop and spoke to a real person immediately (which was great). My usual plumbing company only let me leave a messasge and didn't call me back for FOUR hours. In the meantime Bishop's office called me back and said they would do their best to get out to my house. I mentioned I had a family commitment in the evening that I would have to leave for by 5:30 and I'm pleased to say that Jason was at my house by 1:30pm. He was very progessional and clearly explained pricing and what he would be doing to replace my sump pump. An hour later the water was draining. Jason did a great job, a very professional and personable young man. more

Great Work Thorough Review of Problem 7/22/2011

We woke up this morning with water in our basement again. We had previously dealt with a small, one man shop plumbing service who has replaced our sump pump three times already. It went bad again and we needed help. Bishop was here within 3 hours and replaced the pump. The best part is 3 year warranty and Cormac, our technician. He was extremely helpful and great with the kids. I actually called Bishop over a year ago and the receptionist told me I should call the plumber who put the unit in because it should be under warranty. She could have taken my new business then, but she wanted what was best me. I will definitely use the again. more

Bishop plumbing charges you $79 just for arriving at your house. If they do any actual work including an "inspection" they will rip you off!!!! I was charged $350 basically for an inspection of my ejector pump and then they quoted me $1300-$3200 for a new one. I contacted another plumbing company and they advised me to report them for this practice. I like many others was not aware of what I should have been properly charged and paid them this ludicrus amount. If anyone else has been ripped off you can contact Lisa Madigan's office, Illinois attorney general and they will be happy to assist you. I asked for partial refund and told Diane the abusive office manager that I would write negative reviews and she THREATENED TO SUE ME!!!! SHE SAID WE CAN CHARGE WHATEVER WE WANT!! more

Brock was very helpful, clearly knowledgeable and very creative with problem solving. It was a pleasure to have him working here. Outstanding 7/20/2011

Brad and Brock were on time, did outstanding work on the toilet and got things wrapped up in a timely manner. Everythingn was explained and fixed very professionally and both workers were friendly and helpful with any questions. Bishop always is welcome to do our home's plumbing. more

Do not be fooled by these raving reviews. Most of them have hardly any detail or mention the costs. Their fees are 400% marked up compared to many other plumbers. More then likely this company goes on this and makes up its own 5 star reviews. CHeck the bbb and angies list to see the truth about this company. As soon as a very detailed rip off experience is posted...5 more 5 star ratings appear with very generic raving reviews...they bump that bad reviews off.... more

Successful Call 7/20/2011

Jim came to my house on Saturday, July 2nd, and completed a diagnoses to determine cause of the water leakage from the basement ceiling. He was successful in locating the cause of the problem which to my relief was not an expensive result. Jim was courteous and helpful in his explanation of the cause (bathtub and shower need to be grouted). I would absolutely use BIshop Plumbing again. more
