i love this restaurant! the space is small and casual, and can get busy weekend evenings. you may wait for both tables and service, but patience is well-rewarded. weekdays are much calmer. dinners are $20 or less. the food is delicious and deftly made. appetizer favorites include the grilled squid, agedashi tofu, and ahitashi, also served as a side with their 'dinner set a.' main courses: the aforementioned dinner set, containing sushi, sashimi, ahitashi, and miso, is delicious. their bento boxes are fabulous, but udons particularly stand out. also good are the summer and seafood salads and the fried chicken rice balls. the sushi is always meticulously prepared, fresh, in bite-sized portions. the octopus is always tender. occasionally, the tuna will be replaced with toro, an excellent surprise, but short of ""it's not fatty tuna,"" i've rarely found reason to fault yamato's sushi or its chef. you should eat here! more
