This lovely tea room is right on the corner, you need to be on time or you will wait forever in line with the many patrons dying to come in and enjoy the quaint menu.
I have been here five times now and want to return again in the very near future.
The menu consists of small entries and arrangements of biscuits, sandwiches, cookies and of course, the tea. Many delicious teas served in delicate vintage hodge podge porcelains.
The tea room has an old vintage feel, a little like going in to someone's grandmother's house in England.
The sandwiches and cakes are delicious, my personal favorite is the traditional creamcheese with cucumber.

First of all, I've only bought tea here. I've never actually bellied up for one of the tea services or tea classes, though I really want to, especially since I found out that the guy who runs it, Mr. Fong, is an ordained Daoist priest, which sounds like just about the coolest thing ever, even if I'm not exactly sure what that means. But even if you're not going to sit down and do up the full experience, they offer what are considered some of the finest teas in the world for sale to brew at home, and also, the finest tea pots to brew it in. Everything I've ever tried here (the cheaper ones, of course) have been exceptional.

My birthday was last week. To celebrate, I made my first trip to the Imperial Tea Court in Chinatown. The server was a funny white guy from South Carolina who’d just moved to SF a few months ago and was now learning the art of tea ceremony. Kind of threw us off a bit from the start, but he turned out to be great, drawling Southern accent and all. We ordered two kinds of tea – an opulent white tea and the monkey picked, which isn’t actually picked by monkeys anymore, but nevertheless remains a tea house favorite. We got served in the traditional tea ceremony style, which isn’t anywhere near elaborate as the Japanese style, but is still gorgeous to watch all the water spilling sensuously over the clay cups, and in the very least is an excellent primer of how to prepare and serve tea the right way. The restaurant is decked out in wood paneling with canaries hanging from the ceiling – it looks exactly how you might imagine a classic Chinese tea house would look. Try some of the tea snacks too… pumpkin seeds and peanut butter cookies were great.

Tevana is a small tea cafe/shop with only 3 locations in the entire bay area. They seem to be modeled after Starbucks, with not a whole lot of seating and mostly to go orders of tea. The number and types of tea that are sold is impressive, including white, green, oolong, black, rooibos, and fruit flavors. All of these types have a few different options with different added fruits and flavors. All of it is brewed on the spot with options of with or without sugar, on the rocks, in a pot or in regular or large sized cups. A regular is only $2. Aside from the teas sold in bulk, they also sell organic honey, mugs, Japanese and Chinese teapots and tea sets.
