I had a two visit root canal retreatment with Dr. Wong in Spring 2006. He was very thorough in recleaning my roots, but I did experience some severe pain after the intial retreatment (other wise I would have scored him higher). He's experienced, knowledgable, and took the time to discuss my procedural concerns (in fact, he teaches root canal treatments at UCSF). Dr. Wong's staff went above and beyond the call of duty and I cannot say enough about the front desk receptionist (unfortunately, I don't remember her name). While I was in treatment she went out, walked the four blocks to my car and fed the parking meter for me! She pre-arranged this for me since the procedure was likely to take longer then the hour I was allowed on the meter. After some frustrating experience at another dental office in town, this gesture really impressed me. In short, Dr. Wong and his staff did a good job, but I would recommend some careful pre-planning with the doctor regarding potential pain management (potentially with medication, which I did not have).
Pros: Successful procedure
Cons: Potential post-procedure pain
