I'm a long time Brazilian wax-ee. I've had some truly horrific waxes in my day. I won't go into details; all of us have been there.
Before going to Urban Waxx, I was a pretty loyal Wax On client. I went every 5 weeks for my maintenance Brazilian. Wax On (and most wax places) use a softer wax and use cloth strips to take the wax off. With that softer wax, you can't re-wax over a place you've already waxed. This means a LOT of plucking. OW!!!!! I used to suffer in silence though I once infamously kneed my waxer in the boob on a particularly painful pluck. Also, I think that the softer wax somehow doesn't grab all of the hair follicle because grow back would happen fairly fast. Within 3 days.
Urban Waxx uses a hard wax. I could write poetry about the hard wax. How it doesn't hurt, how you can re-wax over places, how it leaves me clean and hair free for up to a week and half, how there's no weird wax left behind. And the practitioners of the hard wax at Urban Waxx are phenomenal. I've only seen Mindy there but I'm sure that ALL of them are fantastic.
Pros: Hard wax, minimal plucking, clean, friendly, fast
