Going to the Zoo at Christmas time has become a family tradition for us. At Christmas time they have a train that you can ride and see lighted up animals all along the track. It's a really fun thing to do. Our kids love to go and it's fun for the whole family. They usually have concessions for sale too so if it's too cold, you can buy coffee or hot chocolate.

Chicken enchiladas were great. The side of mash potatoes with cheese and vegetables melted in them were amazing. When they ran out of their cinnamon brownie dessert, we were given their tres leches, it was one of the best I have ever had. Nice atmosphere in a colorful Portland neighborhood that is not far from downtown. I would definitely make time for this restaurant on my next trip to Portland.
Pros: fresh ingredients, friendly service, good atmosphere
Cons: None really, maybe chips and salsa should be free

Did you know that in addition to the fantastic family atmosphere and amazing animals the zoo has great food. No not the hot dogs, pizza and popcorn. I mean the food available at the Cascade restaurant at the top by the entrance.
I LOVE the BLT on wheat with seasoned fries. The bacon is PERFECT, the veggies very fresh and their wheat bread is a step up from the usual wheat. Don't miss the seasoned fries, they are $1 more and worth each and every penny.
Don't leave the zoo without eating there. Better yet, you can go there just to eat. The top part of the zoo where the restaurant and gift shop are located are FREE! SERIOUSLY you can go there just for lunch. The price isn't bad either $8 for the best BLT in town is a bargain to me. They have comfy large booths and they are super family friendly.
My whole family loves the food there, we've had soup, salads, burgers etc.... they are all good but the BLT is the best.
Go to the zoo - eat great food.
Pros: So very family friendly - great layout - the animals are amazing
Cons: There is a bit of construction going on making it difficult to see some of your favorite animals - Parking can be a challenge, take MAX!

I have some of the heaviest, most bulky and difficult stuff to move and Jake, Dustin and Chris handled it with delicacy and amazing attitudes. They worked amazingly hard and fast, taking into account their customers pay by the hour. They made me feel like me and my stuff were important, and I was extremely satisfied with the ultimate result. They went beyond the pale in forming a "bucket line" to get a bunch of awkward and heavy stuff up a pull-down door to my attic. That saved me countless hours of slogging the stuff up myself one at a time, up and down, up and down. I would never hesitate to use this company again. They attended to proper techniques to prevent injury to themselves and damage to my things, and instilled the utmost confidence in me that my move was in good hands. Thanks so much Jake, Dustin and Chris!
Pros: These guys are professionals!
Cons: None

I've taken my shitsus there 3 times now and they always have perfect cuts. The girls are very nice and helpful and I can feel very confortable leaving them there even though there is a bunch of dogs there in the same area (large fencing). Lots of staff in cute matching scrubs. Never have to wait and they let me watch the grooming. When the daycare dogs get roudy they calm them down with "please and thank yous". Sounds funny but it seems to work. The selection of food and holistic remedies is very helpfull. They have never missed nails or the ears. I have never seen or smelled anything bad.
Pros: convienent
Cons: I don't like cats

I admit that I miss the traditional barbeque sides, but the heart of good barbeque is the meat, right? My wife and I just got a combo platter, with ribs, chicken, and sausage, and they were all good. The chicken had a nice smokiness, was tender, and it was so well cooked that the cartilage was even edible. I liked the spice of the sausage, though it seemed a bit much for my wife. But the ribs...oh man those were delicious. Best ribs I've had in Portland so far. I recommend Clay's but not if you need to have the traditional selection of sides and choice of sauce.
Pros: good ribs, but I'd leave the jerky alone.
Cons: parking's a pain, so take your bike

I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time. The dinner party that was catered by Mezzaluna and staff was UNBELIEVABLE. I doubt my mouth will ever be that happy again, not to mention the atmosphere. Excellent. I can't say enough.

Great food. Lots of flavor. Not super fast but I mentioned it to our server and they said they would hurry it up. They were allowing us time to talk to each orher. In their defence we should have said we were pressed for time. Once mentioned our food came promptly. Everything was tasty.
Pros: Flavorful.

its funny how so many people can complain about this place. Yes the wait can be long. if you dont want to wait dont go in at the very busiest part of the day. Are you grouchy people just extremly hungery these days. About the prices. Yes it is a tad spendy. but for the quality your getting just such up and enjoy it. The berries are always fresh. The waitresses work hard to serve you to your every need. If your complaining about this food you must not have a tongue. This is definitley the best breakfast restaurant in all of Portland. No wonder its such a huge franchise all over the country. If you guys want cheap food , i heard the homeless shelter is serving split pea soup tonight. So stop complaining people. no one likes haters
Pros: everthing
Cons: the losers who complain and dont deserve to eat here. hope your table isnt next to theirs!
