Nice to have a local hardware store nearby 4/26/2006

I love the convenience of this place. It's a few blocks from our house which spares me the lengthy roundtrip to the burbs. The assortment of merchandise is pretty limited but what it lacks in selection it makes up for in service. more

Great Neighborhood Hardware Store 4/20/2006

If my dad were alive today, he'd take me to Tweedy and Popp. Not because it's big or has every item, but because he'd know the people who worked there and would visit them so often, people would mistake him for an employee. So in honor of the days when I went to hardware stores with my dad, I go to Tweedy and Popp. They have paint, garden stuff, plumbing stuff, they make keys, and they have Dremel bits. Plus the people are SO NICE it's ridiculous. more

an old time hardware store 3/9/2006

Yes, it's Tweedy and Popp's Ace Hardware on 45th in Wallingford. This place is great - there is a large assortment of items you'd not expect to find in a hardware store, such as red-flyer wagons and watering cans. The guys are very helpful, and are full of advice! Its a convenient, friendly, neighborhood hardware store. They make keys, too! more

Tweedy and Popp- your neighborhood hardware store 7/31/2005

Technically it's an Ace Hardware store but this place feels like an old fashioned hardware store where you can get just about anything you need for your current home or garden project. this is a great place to go if you suddenly need a plumbing snake to unclog your toilet or you need to have a spare key made. they sell paint, all kinds of tools, cleaning products, household hardware etc. my only caution is you get what you pay for in terms of Ace branded products. for example, i've bought a couple cheap rotating sprinklers there and they broke pretty quickly. more
