Fun & Fish 8/29/2002

I have to say the first time I went to Sushi Tango, I was less than impressed due mainly to the service. This was the first month they were open and it seems they have done a pretty good job of ironing out the wrinkles since. A couple friends and I went for dinner last weekend and had a blast. We sat at the sushi bar and had a BLAST. Our sushi chef was fantastic preparing everything quickly and beautifully. The fish was very fresh and he was attentive dispite the restuarant being 3/4 full. I recommend the centipede maki and bluefin sashimi. Pros: Attentive Chefs, Good Menu Cons: Little Loud more

Sushi lover 8/10/2002

My husband is an avid sushi lover, while I enjoy some, but also enjoy non-sushi choices. The sushi at Sushi Tango was adequate, the Tuna Tataki was extremely overdone and the portion was VERY small for the money. The vegetable tempura was an extremely small portion. We chose not to try anything else, and decided to leave for greener pasters (try Nami!). In addition, the chairs were painful at work and uncomfortable at best, while our server was extremely distracted. We recommend trying other places in the Cities! Cons: Uncomfortable, Expensive, Poor Value more

Great all the way around!! 6/26/2002

The rolls at Sushi Tango are the best in town. Their presentation is eyecatching and the fish is very fresh. I've tried 7 different sushi places in the metro area, and this is my favorite. The Tango Maki is to die for!!! Pros: fresh, eyecatching, great service Cons: Uptown more

Great Sushi 6/16/2002

I really enjoyed both of my experiences at Sushi Tango. The atmosphere is a bit trendy, but it IS Uptown. All the fish was beautiful and fresh, presented well. If you're expecting Edomae sushi, you will be disappointed, but it's difficult to find that anywhere in the US, let alone at a reasonable price. The prices are reasonable, the chefs are personable, and the sushi bar is the centerpiece of the restaurant, a vast change from many sushi places in town. I won't quit going to other restaurants, I like to have "purist" sushi occasionally, but it's definately in the top of the rotation. I personally enjoy the experimental side of their menu. As far as anything not sushi, I think that it's in the name. If you want Shabu-shabu, go elsewhere. If you want sushi, go to Sushi Tango. Pros: Quality food, Fun atmosphere, Friendly staff Cons: Expensive, Parking in Uptown, Slow when busy more
