My experience with this vendor could not be worse. They ruined my shoes and refuse to take responsibility for the damage -- or even apologize!\r \r I have had them resole many shoes for me and they know I'm a repeat customer.\r \r When they returned my hand-made Italian leather shoes to me has they have often done before, there were two gashed in the leather - one of either side of the shoe. The gashes are 1/2 - 2/3 of an inch long and go completely through the leather, obviously ruining the shoes.\r \r They offered to try and repair them, which I told them was obviously a waste of both our time, but I let them give it a whirl. Predictably, the repair looks ridiculous and cracked apart the first hour of wear.\r \r When I noted the issue, the guy at the counter said, I can't know for certain whether the shoes cam in that way. I asked him whether he knew the exact repair person who worked on my shoe and he said "yes." When I asked "Did you ask that employee whether he damaged my shoe while he was repairing it?" he said "No, I didn't want to look into blame -- I just wanted to get the cuts repaired." (I'll let the reader of the review be the judge of how likely that is to be true.)\r \r He then asked me why I cared whose fault it was, and I said because it is important to knows responsibility it is to apologize and make it right (obviously). He begrudgingly agreed to ask the person working on my shoe about the damage "next time he's in." He never followed up with me, which means he found out exactly what we both knew - his employee destroyed my shoes. more

Bad PR...not recommended. There's another shoe repair shop in 78258...on Stoneoak and Huebner, next to the cleaners. Much better! more

Bad Customer Service - Bad Repairs 9/8/2011

Zombies work here. No greeting, just ""What do you want"" I only left my suitcase here because this is the only authorized Samsonite repair center in hundreds of miles. I needed my Samsonite Suitcase zipper repaired. The rings attached to the zipper head broke off on one side so I could no longer use a padlock. The store did repair the rings but now it is smashed and the 2 zipper sides will not fit together. They took the suitcase into the back room and bent the metal so the zippers will fit together. So now the metal is stressed and may break again. I asked about a warranty and was told 30 days. No paperwork. I have to travel to England next month and I really don't trust their work. A little customer service attitude would have really helped the situation. They have none. = Zombies. more

Awful customer service 2/23/2010

Customer service is not an issue here. They don't give any. Rude and confrontational staff make this a place to avoid. I'd rather go barefoot then see these jerks again. Really bad experience here. \r \r They used to be very good, but have changed for the worst.\r \r Please note: This web site only allows 4 or 5 star ratings. This "business" deserves NONE. more

Luggage Repair 3/11/2009

I bought this piece of luggage on line to match our current luggage. When it arrived the shippers had bent the the rails that store the retractable handle. So the handle would not raise or lower easily. I took it to SA Shoe & I not sure if they even charged me for it. It has been a few months. And it has worked great since. more

Terrible Customer Service and Very Poor Repair!! 7/8/2008

I brought my handbag to be repaired. Small portion of the leather handles was worn and coming unglued so I brought it in to be repaired before more damaged was done. I was told that it would be glued together and reinforced with some stitching. Upon picking up my bag a week later, I examined the work. I could not believe my eyes!! It was not glued well and stitching was poorly done. When I asked the employee about the work, he replied, "We didn't glue all the way through because we wouldn't be able to sew that area. " When asked about their poor, uneven, crooked stitching, he replied, "That is the best we can do. What do you expect when you have to stitch free-hand?" He didn't take the time to apologize or look at me. He looked upset and brushed off and went to the back of the store where repairs were done. I paid over $22.50+tax and left the store feeling robbed. I have worked in the alteration shop and know that heavy duty industrial sewing machine can handle a simple job more

worst service, poor attitude 8/5/2007

My regular shoe repairman recently passed away, and his business and his customers were given to San Antonio Shoe and Luggage Repair. I visited San Antonio Shoe and Luggage Repair to pick up my shoes as was told it would take another week or two to repair my shoes, since they were busy with the new business. I certainly understood this and said it was ok, and then the person behind the counter went on to say, ""our paying customers come first"" and ""we have to eat the cost of the repairs form all these extra csutomers."" Cons: Offensive to their customers more

Excellent Service 6/12/2006

I went to visit a friend of mine in California. I flew there. While I was there we went shopping at all the trendy places and dined at all the hot spots. When it was time to come home I packed my suitcase and all the new stuff that I had bought would barely fit in the suitcase. When I arived home and went to retrieve my suitcases from the conveyer belt I noticed that the one I had overstuffed now had a split seam. It must have just happened cause it didn't appear that anything had fallen out. I took it to San Antonio Shoe and Luggage Repair a few days later and asked them to fix it. They got it done in a matter of a few days and you can't tell there was anything wrong with it at all. They were very reasonable on the price too! I would recommend them to anyone! PROS: Excellent Work CONS: more

My old boots look brand new! 5/26/2006

I took a pair of black, knee high boots here for a repair on a heel back in February. After explaining their services, I decided to also have them shined and further repaired. I could not believe the difference when I picked the up two days later. They looked brand spanking new! I don't recall the exact price, but it was in the mid $20s and much less than if I had bought a new pair. Pros: Quick Service, Friendly and Helpful more
