The San Antonio Zoo is a place the whole family will enjoy. We make it at least one a year and there is always something new to see. The entire park is heavily shaded and there are plenty of seating areas to stop and rest. This is especially nice for the grandparents. Be sure to ask if there are any new babies to see in the nursery, the new babies are always amazing to look at.

My issue with this organization is that the people involved in the front office in placing the animals are too demanding.
I have adopted animals in the past from them and provided them good long lives and good loving homes.
The last three years I've tried to adopt 2x's being turned down due to guidelines that are too stringent.
It's as if they want to keep their animals to provide their own non-profit jobs and incomes.
Although they are a no-kill shelter, this is a farce.
By keeping the animals longer than needed, they are not allowing slots to open for the many good animals that people want to place and have someone adopt.
I no longer find I can send my charitable funds to this organization due to their policies.

This is our home church, and while, yes, it is a large congregation, we have found it very easy to get plugged in and active. The preacher, Max Lucado, is very down to earth and personable, unlike some ministers of other large congregations that I have been to. There are two services on Saturday night and two services on Sunday morning, to accomodate any schedule. The children's ministry is incredible. Our four kids are very active in all kids of activities all year round.

My husband and I were looking for a church to hold our wedding that would allow his brother (a minister with his own church in another town) to marry us. We came upon Alamo Heights Baptist, and are so happy we did. There are some things with the way the wedding day was organized (it was to rigid. My mother was made to go upstairs and wait with the other parents before I was even ready, where I would rather she have been able to stay and help me) that I didn't like, but over all, nothing big. The lady from the church that takes care of weddings was accomodating and allowed us to come in 2 days before the wedding to decorate, and again the day before for the rehearsal. She dealt with everything with the string trio, and had all of the parents and bridal party situated so i didn't have to worry about it. It was a wonderful day, and I couldn't have asked for more!

Blessings is a neat little family owned christian store. It has many religious items for your home as well as gifts for others. There are areas in the store designated for every Sacrament. The store is a old but clean. The people who work there are nice and friendly. The prices are very affordable.

I use 2 go here before i got insurance through my job for my paps or when i just needed to get checked. The staff is really friendly & so easy to talk to. They helped me out on everything i needed & took such good care of me. I recommend this place to all my friends and family. Especially if you dont have insurance its the best place to go to cause they go by your income=)

This temple is kind of far out but well worth the trip! This temple offers services every Sunday and is worth heading out to Bandera for. The temple is on top of a hill and has a great view of the hill country. The road to get up to the temple is hard and the car must be in D3 OR D2. The community is very welcoming of outsiders and actually loves to explain things to them as well.

This church is a great Baptist church. I was going to this church and wasnt even Baptist! The congregation was friendly and the sermons were great to hear. The church is medium sized and welcomes all people! Parking tends to be an issue here so come early to get a spot. This church is associated with the school which educates K-5.

I've attended a good number of different churches in my day, and a lot of them scare me off. I don't like the closed mindedness and negativity toward anything different that you get from a lot of churches/ministers. That was not the case at Los Angeles Heights Presbyterian. I attended a baptism there recently, and was pleasantly surprised at the reverend's energy. I found myself actually LISTENING to the sermon, rather than waiting for it to be over. It's a very small, friendly congregation, and my husband and I both felt very comfortable there.
