Vintage vintage 10/9/2005

Red Light has always had that special just worn in enough, extra soft, kitschy t-shirt from another era that I needed (and sometimes more than just one!) at a decent price. The store is laid out well too, so that you don't have to spend time digging through bottomless bins. They've also got plenty of 70's jeans and filmy vintage dresses. The staff has that uber-cool attitude, but they are willing to help. more

Really similar to buffalo exchange. This shop will take your old clothes and either give you money for them of give you store credit. They have a great selection of vitage clothes as well as other trendy items. If you do go to sell your clothes expect them to be picky with which ones they take. They deffinitly dont take everything. more

Primo vintage clothing, good hats 9/2/2005

I like coming here too look at hats, mainly, but the rest of their merchandise is also appealing. Prices are not dirt cheap, but are quite reasonable for the merchandise being sold. There are usually a number of good hats here, men's and women's, in the $20.00 and under range -- a rarity especially for men's hats of the formal variety. The range of styles here is also quite appealing. more

Too weird for me 8/18/2005

This place was a little too out there for me. Its got great stuff for costume parties and the like, but for everyday stuff it didn’t have much to offer me. It’s a good place to sell your old goods, but they make it more difficult to buy when sorting through stuff. more

Cool place 8/3/2005

This is a cool place to find some sweet duds. They usually have a pretty good selection of stuff. I agree with the smell. It smells wierd in there. Either was a great place to check out if you like vintage style clothing. They also have lots of other stuff to browse through more

Un-impressed 7/26/2005

I wasn't impresses with this shop at all. A friend took me there since she always ranted and raved about how cute the clothing was. But it just is not my style. They have lots of funky, vintage clothing if that's what you are into. But I don't want to wear what my great grandma used to wear. I agree with another reviewers comment with the smell, but I have also noticed this at other second hand clothing stores. Ewww! I thought some of the prices were too much for what you were getting. more

Look closly at what you are buying 7/15/2005

I have been to the red light a hundred different times... usually I will find something (they do have tons of stuff)... but rarely am I satisfied with my purchase. Most recently I bought a vintage dress, but when I got it home I noticed TONS of itsy bitsy moth holes and MILDEW stains that were not seen in the dark lighting of the store. You'd be better of shopping a reputable vintage dealer. more

Visit Hawthornes Red Light 6/28/2005

The red light clothing store has great used clothing and chill prices. I have found some of my very favorite clothing items there. They also keep a good selection of funky shoes and handbags, sunglasses as well! The music is often really odd and sometimes it smells odd in there. I can't place what the smell is but I think it may be something mixed with body odor... Overall it's way worth the amazing finds lingering on the rack. Go see for yourself, it's worth the trip to Hawthorne I swear! more
