It was a rainy day when we stopped here. Looked like a nice place to rest up a bit. We had the fish and chips and they were simply divine. Perfect food for a blustery day.

Worst

Where should you take out of town guests for fish and good clam chowder sourdough bowls? Not here! This place is over crowded, hot, expensive, bad service, and not that great food...

Perfect end to a day 11/28/2005

Among all of the shopping at Pier 39, this stop was most welcomed. The bartender was one of the most friendly & delightful people we encountered on our vacation & totally MADE this place. Aside from the view of the pier near the sea lions & docked ships, the food was great. The bartender highly recommended the sweet and sour calamari -- WOW! This is a MUST. A few stiff drinks & a little more browsing thru all of the pier shops - it's a nice way to end a day on the wharf. Pros: service, view, price more

Perfect end to a day 11/28/2005

Excellent--a pleasant surprise! 8/6/2005

I have to admit I expected a mediocre, "touristy" experience here but was very pleasantly surprised. OuWe were seated promptly. Our waitperson was exceptional and the food was wonderful and fresh. The crab cakes were a treat and the calimari was tender and delicious. My shrimp platter was excellent--several types of shrimp each with its own distinct character (it didn't taste like the same old shrimp just cokked a bit differently--it was better than that!). The ambience was nice and the overall experience was memorable. I have eaten at several of the Pier cafes and rate this as one of the best overall. Pros: great wait staff, variety, fresh, quality food Cons: a bit expensive more

Excellent consistent service! 5/28/2002

The food is good and the service is great! This is a consistent favorite that I often recommend and bring friends because I know that everyone will enjoy it. Parking is easy, the pier is fun, and it is very affordable. This is a must try! Pros: Service, Location, Parking Cons: Not much of a view more
