Best

Paddy Coynes is most likely easily overlooked, hidden away on an industrial street on the first floor of an apartment building. If you like good beer on tap, great service, a smal...

Worst

New to Lincoln Square in Bellevue, Paddy Coyne's needs a lesson in the expectations of the Eastside set. Pros: Friendly waitstaff, fancy pub woodwork Cons: One (dirty) toi...

Try Paddy Coyne's Pub 3/17/2006

I haven't been yet, but I drive by it every day on my way to my son's school, and it's gotten great writeups in the local papers (and even a profile in Sunset Magazine, if that doesn't make you nervous). By all accounts, it's a great spot and one of the most "authentic" Irish bars in town (whatever that means). Give 'em a try and share the scoop at JB - inquiring minds want to know... more

Great Irish food in the South Lake Union Hood 3/2/2006

I had lunch with a friend that works nearby the other day.. late lunch around 2pm. There was plenty of space inside, almost more staff than customers. The place has great south light, right on the corner, and bar seating and a variety of tables. You can even rent out a loft space for private parties. I ordered the Shepards Pie, just under $10. It was a decent size and tasted great! I've heard the fish n chips ($10.50) is very good also. Service was good, the place is a bit too polished/over the top Irish bar themed for me, but still very clean and good design. I see they occasionally have Irish music too. more

Good food, great brews, awesome atmosphere 9/30/2005

This comfortable pub is in a building just a few years old, but it has all the charm of an old alehouse. The high ceilings and the dark wood decor make for a very nice atmosphere. There's even a bartender who speaks with a genuine Irish accent. They have a nice selection of beers on tap; I highly recommend the Smithwicks (dark and smooth, not too bitter). The menu features typical Irish pub fare; good reliable comfort food, well prepared and reasonably priced. The Shepherd's Pie is very good, but the Golden Buck is definitely an acquired taste. more

Good Irish Pub with great food 8/19/2005

Paddy Coynes fills a need in this expanding neighborhood - the need for drink and decent food amongst nothingness. I don't count Taco del Merde as food, the Indian restaurant down the street is barely passable, so until they put something else in the neighborhood this is as good as homey food gets. The shepherd's pie is wonderful, although I would recommend discreetly sopping up the bright orange grease that rims the bowl. Irish stew is great and so is the soda bread. Most menu items are 1/2 off at happy hour. more

Super pub that's Irish/Seattle! 8/3/2005

The interior is a delight of old world dark wood and a lovely old-fashioned pub bar. Nice fireplace for the winter. And, on a warm Seattle evening you can sit outside and watch South Union grow before your eyes! Beers are good, according to my beer-connoisseur date. Alas, the food is not amazing, but rather predictable american-pub fair. I ordered a ceasar salad: nice crisp (cut) romaine, decent croutons, Costco pre-shredded parmesan and too much dressing. My date's fish and chips were very good - crisp, hot, tastey. Atmosphere was fun and, due to pub status, no kids under 18 admitted. more
