Premiere Professional Service 10/5/2011

Tausha and the staff at Marathon Real Estate are terrific: prompt, courteous, professional, and thorough. They have helped my partner and I purchase two condos in the last year and a half, and on both occasions their work was stellar. I cannot recommend them highly enough! As an added benefit, Tausha puts together regular workshops on topics like ""investing in real estate."" I have found these to be highly informative and helpful. If you have a chance to attend one, they are well worth your time. more

Recommendation - Go with someone else. 9/28/2011

Working with Tausha (and Marathon Real Estate) was the worst experience I have ever had and it ended up costing me thousands of dollars in the end. In my opinion, our experience can be summarized by the following: misrepresentation, a poor standard of practice and blatant disregard for the will of her clients. We are perhaps the ""exception to the rule"" here (judging by the other reviews) but if you think it is important for your Real Estate agent to show up at your closing, I would go with another Realtor, because Tausha sent her assistant to ours and it was extremely painful. In the end, I got screwed out of a few thousand dollars. Good luck! more

My wife and I recently re-located to Austin from Omaha, NE. We came in completely blind and ignorant to the whole process (it's our first house). After a couple of less than ideal experiences with other area Realtors, we happened upon Tausha Carlson and Marathon Real Estate. Let me make this brief: Tausha knows her stuff, full stop. As a professional with the experience and competence to guide clients through the myriad pitfalls of home-buying, and a local in tune with the zeitgeist of the weird and awesome Austin, Tausha is the first and last call you need to make. Don't let me neglect to mention Paloma, her fantastic assistant, either. I will be recommending her, without pause or reservation, to my circle of friends, as well as to family members who will be following us soon. more

Has to be the Best in Austin 2/24/2011

I must be the luckiest guy on earth because I randomly met Tausha and I'm so glad I did. I just bought my first place a month ago but it was quite the process as I'm incredibly picky and changed my mind right before almost buying the wrong place. Tausha was incredibly knowledgable, supportive, and caring throughout the process. She feels like family, like an amazing big sister. She not only has an incredible skill set, she's such a genuine person. I bought my condo on a short sale and there were many issues from the seller and bank and Tausha fought for me on several occasions and made sure I wasn't being taken advantage of. She's continued to help me after I've bought my place, giving me the best referrals for all sorts of things that needed to be fixed or done with my condo. My condo had a flooding accident 4 days into my ownership and Tausha was right there offering help even though she was about to have her first child. Her work ethic is unmatched. She's my realtor for life. more

Professional and nice 1/30/2011

I used Tausha to quickly buy a condo when my lease ended. Tausha was very professional from the day we met and understands Austin real estate well. She is an excellent negotiator and exerted no pressure to buy thorughout the process. I've found her referalls for other services such as mortgages, locksmiths, etc. very valuable. Tausha herself is a very nice person and never made my questions feel like an imposition. more

My family and I recently moved from northeast Ohio to the Austin region for two reasons: 1) to be closer to family, and 2) as an entrepreneur I wanted to relocate my business to a more favorable small business environment. After exploring the region, we chose the Lake Travis area because of its exemplary schools and because we fell in love with the beauty of the Texas Hill Country. Although we met with a few realtors in the area during our house hunting trips, we chose to go with Tausha because she possessed all of the traits that we were looking for in a real estate agent: expert knowledge of the local housing market, advice on buying a home based on sound real estate acumen, and a caring, personal touch that would help guide us through the whole home buying process. Unlike many realtors who specialize in a specific neighborhood or region of the city, Tausha was expert in a fairly encompassing region of Austin, so when we started our home search she provided us directly with what we what needed to know about a specific area and its schools without having to refer us to another agent or colleague. more

Comfort, kindness, and understanding 6/20/2010

Me and my wife have rented from Tosh for over six years. Marathon has always been patient with the oft busy and wacky schedule of my scientist / PHD candidate wife and my eccentric artist's needs. My wife often kept very odd hours during her lab times and Marathon was always thoughtful of her need to sleep when sleep was available. This means that they tried to schedule workmen and such according to our needs. They always were prompt with repairs and when speaking to them it was always a pleasant experience to talk to them. We will miss their personal service and kindness as we move on to our next place out of state. Good folks all around. Excellent Professional Service 3/16/2010

When I took a job in MN and needed to sell our Austin home a coworker recommended Tausha. She was so easy to work with, very calming for a first time seller who is a little neurotic in the first place. She immediately jumped right in, listing our home in a variety of places beyond the MLS and was always there to answer every little question I could come up with. With us already being in MN she was able to recommend a fantastic title company that could handle us being out of state with no issues and Anita in her office was great at taking care of all the coordination. The whole process went smoothly and quickly. When Tausha says she sells houses faster than the market average she's not kidding! And all without sacrificing price or quality. Prompt, Professional, Generous Realtor 3/11/2010

I first met Tausha Carlson when the nonprofit where I work wanted to purchase a property across the street from our location. We had to move fast because it was 2007 and everything was selling quickly. Tausha had a contract submitted within 24 hours, then helped us navigate a competitive bidding situation. At closing, she donated her commission back to our organization! Two years later, Tausha represented us again. This time she was also right on top of the details of negotiating a deal and she didn't charge a commission at all. We are incredibly grateful for Tausha's service! more

Great Home Buying Experience 11/23/2009

My husband I recently bought our 2nd home and we were referred to Tausha from a friend when we starting the buying/selling process. We were so impressed! Buying and selling was actually an enjoyable, fun and exciting experience instead of a stressful experience. She walked us through all of the often forgotten steps of home buying without us even having to ask for help. She even worked with us via phone and email when she was on vacation to make sure we were getting everything we needed. Excelent Real Estate agent 11/12/2009

Tausha was very easy to work with and made the home-buying process easier than we expected. The hard part was choosing the home we wanted. She had good suggestions and I felt she understood exactly what we wanted in a home. In the end, we ended up with a great place and hopefully a long-time friend. We had to choose a realtor very carefully because, in my opinion, we're picky, slow to make up our minds, and have our own way of thinking about things. But Tausha (and Anita) gave us all the time we needed, answered every question, and nurtured us all along the way. Wow 11/11/2009

In August My wife and I were looking into moving to Austin but didn't know anything about the area. Tausha was busy the weekend we visited and Luisa (the other broker/owner in the office) was kind enough to show us around. It isn't often that I'm blown away by a product or service but I can't say enough about her and the agency in general! Due to employment circumstances we ended up in Kansas City and not Austin but months later I get a call and a card from Luisa on my birthday! How we wish she could have helped us in KC!
