Worth the wait! 6/6/2009

This is a great sandwich shop. They have a wide selection of meats that you don't see at most delis. When you get here, take a number right away while you ponder your order. On the weekends it will take them a while to get to you. They put a lot of effort into each sandwich, but it's not a particularly rapid process! They also have house-made ravioli and other pastas in a deli case. more

Everything i have pigged out on from there is so good, fresh and not too expensive. (side note: all the stuff listed below, i had in one day... but now i go back just for one or two items) The deviled eggs and potato salad have to be at the top of my list, followed by the rare roast beef sandwich, then the ravioli with meat sauce... any of those choices and you'll be going back! Pros: Fresh food, huge selections, great cheeses too Cons: parking and lunch time can be tough more

Im a musician,..made the bay area my home for nearly twenty years..I havent been in the bay area in a decade,..going down to do a show, new band,new cd,new record label..lotsa hoopla..exciting,yeah...but what Im really excited about is going to LUCCA for a proscuitto and provolone sandwich, thier fabulous potato salad and a nice stroll along the marina...I went to bed last night thinking of LUCCA and I couldnt stop salivating...cant wait to get there november 1st...yummy. I have been forever changed. 3/20/2007

Never again will i want a sandwich from anywhere else. I have been going here for more that seven years and everytime, I am always satisfied. I used to work on Chestnut St. and ever since i have left that neighborhood I have tried to give other places a try but i always come back to Lucca. Nothing compares. Staff is great! Food is Great! Chestnut St is cute. They are the best. Pros: Food, Staff Cons: parking but its out of their control more

Lucca is the best sandwich place in the city.They also have a cornucopia of great pastas, sides and homemade dishes along with wine, breads, cheeses, and all the necessary ingredients for a great meal. The staff is wonderful, the selection is outstanding and the food is fresh and deliciosa. Try the Italian special on Acme rosemary. Pros: food, staff, ambaince Cons: parking more

Great Old Time Deli 11/11/2005

This place has been in the marina for years so allot of the customers have been going to this place for generations and know the owners which is currently the daughter of the orginal owners. it's a famliy owned shop and the quality and services is always the best. the counter staff is great and very knowledagble about food. They are also one of the few remining delis in the City that have some of the classic foods from Italy. The prices are not the cheapest, but if you are looking for that real old time deli food that used to be around the City this is the place. PROS: Great selection of Food CONS: No Parking more

It's the perfect Italian Delicatessen 4/10/2005

My parents grew up in the Marina and they have been linked to Lucca's for years. You walk in the front door and you just get enveloped in the smell of the Italian food waiting inside. They have the best deli meats and cheeses and be sure to pick up some raviolis to take home. Mozzerella is shipped in fresh from Italy twice a week as well. This place just reminds me why I like being Italian. Pros: Great Food, Good Prices, Fast Service Cons: Crowded on weekends, Tough parking more
