Best haircuts of my life 2/2/2006

Ive been going to Adrian for the last nine months or so and have never had better, more consistent haircuts in my life. Hes an artist with the scissors and has every right to be proud of his skills, yet never shows it. Professional and serious, while relaxed at the same time. Ive watched him approach every cut with a fresh perspective. The atmosphere is upbeat with tasteful, contemporary music. Comfortable for the hip and non-hip alike. Richard took 10 years off my look! 1/20/2006

Richard IS a good listener, but he is also intuitive beyond belief. I walk in not knowing what to do and he manages to give me an easy, up to the minute look that never fails to get comments. (As in, ""Hello, young lady."" I'm 35 and I got carded the other day!) And, his cuts LAST. Several times I've come into the salon to get a new cut and people think I'm just leaving because my hair still looks so fabulous. I have him color & highlight, too, and none of my friends know. How's that for skill? I love Hayes Street (good shopping) and the salon is hip without being too trendy. (Good music) As for Richard's chairside manner...he's a genuinely good guy. Richard is the best! Although I have always had ""good hair"" you'd be surprised how hard it is to take find the perfect haircut and color...and as a native San Franciscan I have been to almost all the chi-chi and no so chi-chi hair salons...but this is it,the search is over. Richard is a true artist in both the art of cutting hair and the art of customer service. I always feel like Salma Hayek everytime I leave the salon...and that alone is worth the price of admisson! Best Hair in the City! 1/15/2006

I would consider myself to be afraid of commitment when it comes to choosing a stylist. I recently moved to the city and had a slew of horrible, cry in the mirror haircuts; this was NOT the case with Adrian. This I can honestly say is one of the best haircuts I have ever had. Adrian knew how to work with my hair which I wear both curly, blow dried, and flat ironed, he took off the ends exactly how much we had discussed, and gave me a style I felt beautiful and confident wearing. I loved my hair 1/15/2006

I have had my hair screwed up so many times in the past I am always worried about getting it screwed up again. They chop it off when I specifically say I am growing it out. The color is too dark or too reddish. Richard he gave me the best haircut I have ever had he made it look healthy, without making it look shorter at all I have longer hair and I like it that way. The color he used was gentle and my hair actually felt healthier after. The first day I wasnt sure about the color but after one wash I love it. The atmosphere is not pretentious at all and Richard was fun to talk to. more

Great Hair in the City 1/10/2006

I found Richard on citysearch through a different salon and have followed him to Headlights. I have people stop me and ask me where I get me hair done because they love it so much. Whether it's in person or in pictures my cut and highlights look incredible. Richard listens to what you want and makes it happen. He is also great at fitting you in and making you feel really comfortable when you're at the salon. Thanks Richard! more

Richard is just a skilled stylist. He listens, yes, LISTENS to his customers hair needs! I really enjoyed his conversation too. Richard is a wonderful stylist and his approach with customers is second to none. I see reviews in here all the time, and I am skeptical but Richard truly was amazing. My hair is amazing! 1/7/2006

After reading the reviews and getting bad highlights and hair cuts from other salons, I decided to give Richard a try. He helped me decide what would look best with my curly hair. I felt bad because I was definitely his client with the most hair, but he was able to tame my hair like a pro. I got highlights, color, and a cut that looked amazing and a great price. Glenn and Adrian are great too. I watched them while I was getting my hair done and all their clients left with a big smile on their face. If you want you hair looking the best it can, I would definitely recommend Headlights. Pros: Inexpensive, Relaxing, Great Hair Cons: Are you kidding? None more

I had a wonderful experience at Headlights and love my new color and cut. Making the appointment online was fast and easy. There was no attitude at this salon and it makes me feel very comfortable. Adrian is a very good listener and was very patient with me. I love the color and cut he gave me, it was just what I wanted. Perfectly done! Great salon and people!! 1/6/2006

Today was the first time my fiancée and I went to this salon. Richard did both of our haircuts and we are extremely satisfied with the service. He cut it precisely the way we wanted. Additionally, the atmosphere is super friendly and not stuffy. We will definitely go back again!!! more

Not Impressed 1/3/2006

I was NOT impressed- my cut was so unflattering and blah boring! (I actually cried). The color was ok, but I thought that for the very mediocre experience the prices were very steep. Maybe this place is better for stay at home mom's, not young people who want a sexy cut and style! Pros: easy to get to Cons: expensive, not all that more

Best Color in SF 12/14/2005

Having recently moved here from NYC, I finally found a stylist who listens, and knows what he's doing here in SF, and that's Adrian. Adrian made my hair look amazing, with a full highlight and lowlight that really made my hair look alive. He gave me a precision haircut as well, and wow, can he work with those scissors. He's really nice and I highly recommend him! more

Oh Richard you're so fine, you're so fine you blow my mind! I can't not believe my eyes...this is the best ""sexy grown up haircut"" to bless my tresses! I asked for fringe I got mind blowing fringe, I asked for layers you gave me the MOST sexy layers...I went shopping in Union square after ""the experience"" and I got so many compliments it made me melt. I wouldn't go any where else. I'm so glad I found this amazing little place away from the ostentatious Union St and Fillmore district for the small price you changed my world. Headlights Hair Studio Review 12/2/2005

Headlights is amazing! The salon has online reservations, which is really nice. The location is convenient and the atmosphere in the salon is very relaxing. It's just a treat sitting in there. There is absolutely no ""attitude"" in this place. I felt very comfortable, like I was in my own home almost. The prices are very reasonable as well. My stylist is Richard and he is so nice and helpful. He really listened to what I wanted and only wanted to give me a style and color that I was comfortable with. I'm sure the other two stylists are excellent as well. I have to say it was one of the most pleasant experiences I've ever had in a salon. When I left, I really was thrilled with the results, and amazed at how reasonable the prices were for the service I received. I can't imagine going anywhere else! I HAVE ALWAYS HATED GOING TO SALONS BECAUSE EVERYONE LOOKED BETTER THAN ME...FINALLY AFTER YEARS & YEARS OF SEARCHING I HAVE HIT ON THE RIGHT SALON & STYLIST..NOT ONLY DO I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MY HAIR BUT MY HAIRDRESSER RICHARD MADE ME FEEL LIKE I WAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PERSON IN THE WORLD. Great Haircuts, convienent and friendly 11/20/2005

I've been going here for a few years. I just switched to Richard and he's really friendly. It's enjoyable to find a place without the attitude of most haircut shops in the city. They give you Mighty Leaf tea and the music is always pleasant. Glen is also a great guy to get to know. Pros: parking is easy, friendly, nice atmosphere more

I have been coming to Glenn for a very long time, and I wouldn't trust my hair to ANYONE but him. His artistic style is to be trusted, he will make your hair look as beautiful as it possibly can. I really, truly recommend HEADLIGHTS as the number one place for you and your hair to go. more
