The Greek Cuisina downtown closed but there is still one in Tualatin. It has great Greek food and a cool atmosphere. I love the Calamari and the Gyros. Pros: Love the food ...

Had a great time 10/7/2009

My girlfriend an I went to check it out on a friday evening. I ordered the lamb and she had a greek salad. We enjoyed it and wandered upstairs after dinner to check out the night club. The Good DJ and a big dancefloor lured us in and we had a blast. Pros: Great Food, Good Service, Fun Night Club on Friday Cons: Bums outside begging (whats new) more

Yum!!! reveiwer is a Liar 8/1/2009

Yum!!! 7/31/2009

Food was terrific! I've head bad things about this place, but each time I go is better than the last! Pros: Hummus & Lots of seating Cons: Downtown Parking more

AWFUL, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! 7/29/2009

This place is AWFUL. The food is terrible. It tasted old, overcooked, and made me sick. Not to mention paying way too much for food that I would not have given to my own dog! I wish I could give this place a zero star rating because a one star rates them better than they deserve. Save yourself time, money, and the likely chance of illness and go somewhere else! Cons: EVERYTHING! more

GREEK THIEVES tried to cater our wedding & failed miserably. 7/29/2009

What ever you do, do not let the Greek Cuisina cater your event. They will short you items that you have already paid for, treat you like garbage, and generally do a terrible job at what they call catering an event, beware! We just hired ""Greek Cuisina"" to cater our formal wedding this past weekend, July 25th on Rex Hill. We spent nearly $3000 to feed 100 guests. First off we had done the tasting and had everything chosen 6 months ago but when it came close to event time we couldn't reach the contact person and it took jumping through numerous hoops for days to get in touch with someone who could help us out. We finally were put in touch with the owner and learned that the catering planner had changed and that he would now take our order. So we are now starting over from ground zero with our entire order. (very fun when you have every thing else to worry about when your wedding is less than a month away, thanks again!) So we make our order once again and guess what, it's about $1000 more for less food than than we were promised previously... and this guy is a real joy to talk with especially when he is yelling at you and hanging up on your call! Yes, this really happened! So everything gets worked out and the big day comes around, it's 4:45 pm and the wedding starts in 15 minutes and guess who knocks on the door, the idiots from Greek Cuisina wanting a payment check before they can even start to set up. We had to hold the wedding so that this class act, overpriced catering service could get their stuff down to the event area and set up. How nice for our guests on a 95 degree afternoon to have to wait an extra half hour for them to set up.... later on in the evening they actually have the audacity to argue with my wife ""the bride"" about not busing the tables, the badly dressed owner swears up and down that they weren't supposed to bus the tables, when its right there on the printed contract ""busing service for 100 people"" Very frustrating.... To make a long frustrating story short, here is a list of things we got shorted on or are unhappy with. We are in the process of recouping what the charged and shorted us on, with legal action if necessary: -there was no rice... we paid for 100+ people worth and its on the invoice.. -there should have been plenty enough flat bread for every person with some left over, ""we ordered extra packs"" the guests received 1small triangle piece of flat bread per salad (about enough to feed a 2 year old kid"" -there should have been plenty of hummus leftover, we ordered a gallon and each person only got a small, ""very small"" cup full, where is the rest of the paid for gallon... ? -they shorted us on meat, (they were asking guests if they could use the meat off of the appetizer kabobs to put onto flat bread for the gyros.) very odd, where did all that paid for meat go...? -no vegetarian kabobs to be seen what so ever, they were on the invoice...? -they showed up at 4:45, everything was suppose to be set up by 4, we had to hold the wedding for them to get there stuff to the catering area. (only 1 entrance path to the event space.) -they argued about busing the tables and then did a poor job busing.. (my wife and then my brother ended up busing the head table which they had forgotten about) -everyone in their group was to wear black pants and a white dress shirt, the old man (the owner) was actually wearing an old t-shirt and looked like a soup kitchen slob. -they didn't bring there own boxes to put the few left overs there was in, so they asked for 1 gallon baggies, used a few and stole the rest of a brand new unopened box, this after we are supplying them.... go figure. -they rudely ignored guests when comments were made about the poor busing service. -used poor judgment on their part for only sending 3 people to cater an even of 100+ people. Save your money and aggravation don't even think about using these Greek thieves. Pros: the food from the restaurant generaly tastes good. Cons: unorganised, rude, non punctual, shorted paid for items more

Would never eat here again 7/24/2009

There was a stale smell in this restaurant that should have alerted me to the experience we would have at Greek Cusina..the service was amateurish. I have had much better service in a diner and better gyros from a street cart. The food was embarassingly bad. My husband had intestinal problems that I can only attribute to the food we ate at this restaurant. I was probably saved as I only ate a couple of bites of my entree. There are better places to eat in Portland than here. Pros: There are none. Cons: Worst representation of Greek food that I have ever eaten more

Bad under cooked food 7/22/2009

I was just there on Sunday, I ordered lamb shamks, they hard as leather and tasteless, very expensive too. Won't be going back. more

good entertainment, bad service and food 7/12/2009

I like going here for dancing and the show is entertaining, but the food was not so good and the waitress was so bad she didn't get a tip from anyone in our party. Pros: entertainment and dance club Cons: waitress attitude and food more

Great Food/Service 5/27/2009

Walked in late on a whim. The service was great with freindly staff and the food was better. Will go back again. Pros: Good Food at good price Cons: Noise from bar upstairs. more

Food was horrible and made us sick. 5/13/2009

Me and my partner came in for lunch with a coupon off of restaurant dot com and thought this would be a pleasant experience. The huge appetizer platter had a great presentation but the food was horrible. The sausage was tough, calamari was cold and the food got us sick. Within a few hours both of us were throwing up from both ends and called the owner the following morning who promised to reverse the charges for our meal. It's been almost three weeks and still no credit to my account. Seriously thinking about pursuing legal action. DO NOT EAT HERE. Pros: There really are none Cons: Food got us sick more

horrilbe everything.......... 5/11/2009

I went to the Greek Cusina for a bachelorette party. We were on the upper floor where they supposedly give a show. When we got there, it took the waitress almost 20 minutes to finally come over from chatting with the bartender (obviously not about work) to take our drink orders. Pros: throwing plates.... Cons: everything else... more

bad food, worse service 11/17/2008

We went to the Cuisina on a Sunday night, and were one of 4 tables being served. We never got waters, we had to ask for glasses for our beers, and we also had to remind the waiter that we had ordered soup, which he delivered after the main course. The soup was lukewarm and drab compared to other Greek restaurants downtown, the Falafel tasted burned, and the Calamari dinner tasted like the heat lamp special. After we choked down our food, our waiter was no where to be found. We had to ask the waiter from another section for our tab. The table seated next to us had to ask for theirs as well, as they had been waiting longer than we had for our waiter to reappear. Aside from the bad service and highly priced, crappy food, the bathroom floor was littered with used papertowels and the toilet wouldn't flush. I don't recommend this place at all. more

Poor service, old cold food! 10/4/2008

My Wife and I just tried the new Greek Cusina in Tualatin. It was horrible experience. We ordered calamari and kabob chicken dinners. The calamari was not fresh and it was fried way too long and it was like eating a rubber band. It was by far the worst calamari we both ever experienced, we ate a few bites and decided it wasn't worth the battle or taste. If you are going to have items on your menu, make sure the cook knows how to prepare the food correctly and make sure it's fresh. The kabobs came out and the cook said they had ran out of chicken ( what kind've greek restaruant is out of chicken kabobs at prime eating time?), so they gave us steak instead. It was cold tough and there was no taste or spice to the meat. It tasted as if it had sat out , which really scared us both, we didn't eat them because the cook said he was making a fresh batch of chicken kabobs. The rice was so unauthentic cold and also tasted as if it had sat out as well. We waited around for some fresh chicken kabobs, but the chef/ waitress forgot to serve them to us. The manager and waitresses we're all too busy chatting in the back with each other and not giving any care or concern to customers in this establishment. My pregnant wife walked out and got some fresh air while I spoke with a waitress who was apologizing our horrible dining experience. Portland/surrounding areas have so many wonderful middle eastern places to eat and the price is pretty comparable to this dive. We gave it a try and we we're sadly disappointed. It makes me so sad when Managers/owners don't care about the quality of their establishments. Food and Beverage is a competitive business. I don't foresee this restaurant being in business much longer. This the first city search review, usually if dine somewhere and it's bad I just don't go back. It's Saturday night and I felt this place was so awful I had to warn all my fellow Portland/ surrounding area neighbors and friends. Pros: location Cons: cold food, bad service more

Satisfies my ""Greek yen"" 7/31/2008

We don't go out a lot but when we have a hankering for Greek, this is the place. I see negative comments, but I must be there at the right time, because all I've experienced was great food, some good wine recommendations and good natured staff. Ted, the owner seems to have enough time to cruise through and greet diners...just like the old days, not just in Greece, but in the states, too. We've gotten away from having a restaurant owner actually walk through and ask you how your meal is. i appreciate that. Pros: friendly, lively attittude Cons: poor press more

Single sitting and service makes this foody unhappy! 4/27/2008

I like to play this game...go eat lunch by myself when I know the random restaurant has a tv and sports are on. Its fun for me. I wondered into Greek Cusina today (Sunday) at 1245pm requiring 2 things: a gyro and a coke. Thats it simple enough. Dirty looks were exchanged due to the fact I asked for a booth, I pay for this request by being seated in the back of the restaurant by the kitchen. Three servers ask me for my drink order after I sit there for 10 minutes and still have nothing to drink I ask for the floor manager. He is able to bring my drink AND creep me out all at the same time. Taking of the order was an insane process, and after 35 min my gyro and fries arrives. 35 MINUTES!!! There is no one in the restaurant! Manager bothers me after 10 min noticing that Ive had 3 bites of my gyro. Completely dry! Horrible sauce, underdone fries, over ripe tomatos and no refills offered on the coke! All of this is going on while I am forced to listen to kitchen banter...you ever worked in a kitchen? You know what I mean. Ew and Ew! Not a recommended experience. Pros: Huge Tv in the bar Cons: everything else more

Disgusting 4/12/2008

Can't recommend it. As a restaurant-the food is sub par: greasy chicken and dry potatoes with god-awful string beans-and served luke warm. The drinks were among the worst I've had ever-my drink was made with juice that had gone bad. If the state does pull their liquor license it would only be for the best. The greek entertainment on the ""taverna"" level was a joke-they don't even teach the dance steps correctly.(I'm greek) And the employees? With a few exceptions I've never seen such a bunch of derelicts and thugs.Maybe its because there is a ""club"" upstairs-but when I'm out for a family evening I really don't expect a security guard with neck tattoos to be ogling my daughter-yuck. Some of the employees were drunk-including the owner. Since then I've heard that the club is a hangout for east-european gangsters- I believe it.One of them probably owns it. Thumbs down on all counts. Pros: well located Cons: dirty more

Great Food and Fun! 3/27/2008

I've been to the greek cusina a couple times and it's always been great. I've learned to definately make a reservation for the second level for a friday night. It's so fun with the greek show and belly dancer. It is always pretty busy and everyone seems to be having a great time. I love the food although it is kind of expensive. Pros: Hot Cocktail Waitress Cons: A little over priced more

Owner Poops in Mousaka.........Seriouslly 3/24/2008

This place has two distinct sections. The restaurant, and night club/bar. My comment pertains to the night club/bar. Pros: Cool octopus figure on exterior Cons: security policies more
