This is NOT an upscale sushi place. A tiny, cramped bar around a couple of busy, hassled chefs, making tuna rolls by a hundred at a time... But: you get to SEE your food in advance (always a plus with fresh fish), and, provided you know what you like, the menu allows for some excellent choices (7-peice salmon or tuna sashimi for $4!?). The 'rotating' fish plates get stale after a while, and some dishes they don't make too often, so, check the menu and ASK THE WAITRESS for the stuff you want - even if you sit at the bar. You'll be glad you did, and the service is fast. more

With great prices and delicious food, it's no wonder that Genki Sushi is a favorite among many people, including many of my friends and classmates. With different dishes with a range of prices, usually grouped by the color of the plate, it's easy to figure out which plate you should eat to stay within your budget. A personal favorite of mine is definitely the "Ocean Salad". I've introduced many friends to this dish, and all of them, with the exception of one person have been hooked on it ever since. One of my friends even told me that she and her friend only went there one time to get the Ocean Salad. The spicy tuna is another one of my favorites. However, seeing that Genki Sushi is so popular among many locals, and even visitors, this restaurant is often crowded, but if you're lucky, you'll catch them at a good time. During really busy hours, especially in the holiday season, expect a long wait. Genki Sushi is definitely a great place to go when you're hungry for something good and affordable. :] more

Genki Sushi is a rotating sushi bar/restaurant. It is a fun place to dine and choose the sushi that comes your way. Their menu selection is generally more "local" although they do offer sashimi but they are not freshest. But if you'e looking for good spicy tuna, this is definitely the place to go. The prices are decent (they just raised it a few months ago) and the size is not bad for sushi. It's probably one of the cheapest on the island for Japanese food. Genki is always filled and there is always a line at the Kapahulu location. more

This Japanese restaurant offers more than 60 different suchi types and more. This restaurant is great fun for everyone as the selections come to you on a conveyor belt. The prices are reasonable and the food portions are just right. You pay by the color coded plates that you choose off the conveyor belt. The restaurant is located on the mauka side (mountain side) of the mall on the ground level. more
