This place is super nice and well decorated. Its very nice place to go and wonderful place to get a pet. I highly reccomend against going to a pet store. Most pet store from hawaii have pets coming from puppy farms and similar areas to that. This place has animals that really need a home. Some of the people working at incoming are a little mean, but other than that its such a nice place to go. And if you get a chance I would reccomend you go on the petwalk in July.

I haven't been out with the guys in a while and we went to Oceans last Thursday. Aside from a short wait to get in, the rest of the night was a huge blur of chicks, drinks and dancing. Paid for it the next morning, but it was worth it!
Pros: Chicks, Good parking, Chicks
Cons: Same music

This library is located at the beginning of Ala Wai Boulevard. This library is very nice with beautiful landscaping. I really enjoy visiting this library because of the extensive collection of books that they have. Also the interior of the library is very nice. Service is great. A large monetary donation was given to this library a few years ago by a great admirer of this library.

As others have said, I never thought much of of Airports before (either positive or negative) but the Honolulu Airport is very nice. I usually dread wasting several ours in the airport between flights, but at HNL they are a great way to relax. There central Japanese/Chinese gardens (which are inside of the security check points) are very relaxing. Amazingly there weren't that many people there either, so it was the perfect way to sit and relax in peace and quite listening to the trickle of water and watching the fish. Other aspects of the airport were clean and efficient as well, making my trip through HNL a nice experience.

More
The Honolulu Star Bulletin is like a staple or landmark in Hawaii. It has been around for a very long time. They have terrific local and national news, sports, classifieds, entertainment and much more. The Honolulu Star Bulletin has wonderful ads about local businesses as well as sales at shopping malls. They also have articles about the best places to dine at. It is a very good source, especially if you are a visitor to the island or you are thinking about moving to the islands.

An Episcopal Church in Makiki/Manoa area of Honolulu. They are welcome and affirming, a congregation of thoughtful Christians who are involved in the community, enjoy worshipping together, and study scripture and nurture their faith.
Come check us out - I've been involved a year, and feel both very welcome, and at home in this church.

More
Hawaii Meals on Wheels is a private, not-for-profit organization dedicated to delivering hot, nutritious meals to the frail elderly and disabled persons who cannot cook or shop for themselves and have limited help to perform these basic activities. One may volunteer for HMOW in several capacities but perhaps the most popular way to get involved is to be a meal delivery driver. HMOW serves 250 clients a day for lunch and dinner and has various routes throughout the island. The most satisfying part of volunteering is knowing you are making a difference by taking an hour out of your day to deliver a meal and smile to an individual who otherwise would not have access to a hot meal or have regular contact with other people.

More
The front lawn of the library is beatiful with lots of large trees. As you enter the library, you are struck by how huge and quiet it is. There are tons of books to choose from, they provide storytelling for children at certain times on certain days, and there are so many places to just sit and read.
There is even an outdoor area inside the library where you can sit in the sun and just read without leaving the library. This alone makes for a very relaxing and peaceful place to read and just get away for a little while.
The librarians are also very helpful, which is a necessity since the library is so big and it can be easy to get lost if you are new here.
