I normally try not to buy anything retail. Why? because typically I do my own homework and research so I know what I want to buy down to the manufacturer model number. A friend of mine recommended Kaimuki camera so I was in the area one day and dropped in. The staff was indeed very helpful and I did end up purchasing a small camera bag. As many of you may know, some items are difficult to purchase without seeing them, touching, feeling it in real life. They did not have a really large assortment of bags, but apparently they know which brands/sizes are the most popular and that is what they stock.

Hawaiian Brians is probably the most popular pool halls in Hawaii. The place is open 24 hours seven days a week. The place claims to be family friendly although I couldn’t imagine taking a 6 year old kid there. The place is constantly filled with the stench of smoke, which is inescapable. The non-smoking areas are a joke.

My cousin invited me over when he was leaving the islands for a new assignment. The room he had was okay I wouldn't consider it a luxury room or hotel by any stretch of the imagination. The pool is what I'd consider medium sized, the property has a nice tropical look and feel. Take a walk around.
If you know someone in the Military I believe you can be sponsored so you can rent a ballroom for a wedding or other function. I've been to several weddings there and even a High School reunion.
The food is always pretty good and the facility is nice. Once again, not what I consider luxury.

More
The Hawaiian Humane Society is a nice place to adopt cats or dogs. You can see the animals in their cages and the Humane Society has a great program to adopt these animals. The grounds at this Humane Society are very nice. The animals look like they are well taken care of. The workers are very knowledgeable about the dogs and cats that they have on the grounds. The Hawaiian Humane Society also encourages and has programs about neutering or spading your animals.

If you are a newbie answer yes to these questions than this is the store for you. 1) You don't have any idea of what you want. 2) You need a lot of hand holding.
Francis has all of the cool stuff you've seen and read about in stock, but I believe because of the convenience they have to charge the full retail price.
They are fairly conveniently located near the Ala Moana Shopping center, and parking is available in the rear of the building.

I started planning for my wedding and had initially heard of REVE through various sources -- magazines, the web, word-of-mouth. The ones I paid most attention to were from other brides who had used their services and had nothing but good things to say. It's easy to see why... just take a look at their portfolios. The images are stunning, ethereal, in the moment... too many words to describe. I decided to book REVE for my wedding and have not regretted that decision.
My photographer was the consummate professional -- unobtrusive but still able to capture the important moments of our day. I would highly recommend REVE to anyone looking for the best in the industry. Check out their new website -- lots of stuff added and gorgeous eye candy!

ok, this place is a real hole in the wall. it looks like a garage, and is next to a laundromat. but it is the BEST deal on thai food in town. cheap, and sooooo good. their pad thai is awesome!! i don't like really spicy food, so i just make sure i tell them. but you can make anything more spicy, less spicy, vegetarian, substitute tofu instead of chicken, etc. etc. etc. and i think all of it is under 10 bucks! gotta love it!!

The prices are fairly high but the cookies are good and all are shaped like pineapple unless you special order them. Their biggest competitor is Big Island candies which makes basically the same cookie but rectangular. I enjoy both. They also make speciality cookies for weddings and other occasions. Minimum order is one hundred. We ordered the chcolate dunked hearts for my sister's wedding and they were a big success.

More
Dee Lite has some of the best cakes in the country. Can't say world since I haven't tried them all! But I would always request the peach chiffon for my birthday. For others' birthdays I would bring them the rainbow cake which is a mix of passion fruit, guava and i think lime and also the haupia cake. Their cakes are not too sweet and very light and fluffy. I probably could eat the whole cake myself. The only thing that is hard is the cake is so big (tall) and it has to be refrigerated so sometimes you need serious cleaning out of your fridge to fit it in there. This is one bakery that I can truly be considered a glutton. Their other baked goods are very good too but in comparison with the cake I can't think of anything else besides the cake.
