I'd never go to another 24 hour Fitness again! I was invited by a friend to go to visit the 24 hour fitness in Waikiki with a free pass and finally agreed to go with him after 4 months of begging.
I talked to Denver (assist mgr ) who tried to persuade me to join the membership with no down tonight. I was hesitant because I was not sure if i would be able to commit so quickly and I did not bring my wallet with me to pay $23 for a one time fee.
Basically, Denver went around the bush but I got the hint that either I sign up today or I go home due to the fact that I was a club member 3-4 years ago and didn't qualify for the pass. However, he could NOT pull my name up in the system. He also did not sympathize with me that my friend was waiting for me to work out with him. All he did was shrug and gave me this look "this is our policy." I'm a salesperson in my career as well and I know he was just trying to make commission. I personally felt discriminated b/c he did not see me as a potential client.
I have never used the Waikiki location before and I just wanted to try it out. Every club has its own environment as well as difference in equipment. I was very frustrated with the way the situation was handled. I was a former client and now I can't even go back to try another location out for ONE day with possibility that I will sign up in the future. Denver did not apology for the inconvenience although I showed much frustration and embarrassment that I had to tell my friend I could not stay.
As a corporation, I hope they learn to train their sales employees to be more professional and accommodating, especially towards former and potential clients.
Two weeks after my complaint to their corporate office, the manager at the Waikiki branch called and offered me a pass and he was surprised I was turned down that day when I said I was not there during late hours. All he could say was "oh, well I'm the manager so you can come back to visit" TOO LATE.

Central Pacific has really stepped up its services and offers the best Free Checking accounts. They have no taken over City Bank and growing bigger than ever. I always get good service at CPB and had a checking account with them for the past 5 years with no problem. I know CPB has a lot of business accounts rather than individual accounts and I think that's why their customer service lines for deposits and other transitions are shorter.

American Savings is a pretty large and stable financial institute in Hawaii and I have to admit their lines are a lot shorter than Bank of Hawaii or First Hawaiian. I'm not sure if it's because they do not have as many clients though because comparing to other banks, America Savings Bank tellers are the youngest and seem to the most inexperienced. I have no problem with this but I have experienced a few times where I ask one question and get the run around and then they have to go ask their co-workers or manager.
Otheriwse, I like American Savings but with their consistent low interest on savings accts, I am slowly switching over to mainland banks.

First deck is mainly for tourist and they have a lot of entertainment going on (Hula and Polynesian dancing). Second deck is a little more mellow and you get a dinner buffet. Third deck is like fine dining and you get full service from the waiter.
This is a great curise to celebrate birthdays and anniversies. Sail out to sea and put your routine life behind for a few hours and it will do wonders for you.

Fidelity National Title is one of the better escrow companies I have worked with, especially the Downtown branch. They are quick to response to your requests and will take requests on 1 day turnaround preliminary title reports. They even work on some weekends and nights, as I get faxes and emails from them at all hours of the day. The escrow officers are also willing to travel to your office to sign and notarize paper work.

They are also friendly and upfront about what they can do. I enjoy working with them and hope to do more business with them in the future. Benedicktus & Associates Real Estate Appraisers has a reputation for stretching the value higher than other appraisers. Which isn't necessarily bad if you need the value to come in at a certain amount, they are just willing to do more creative massaging of the numbers.
The company is pretty good at getting back to you and telling you what they can and can not come up with and the turnaround is about 2 weeks.

We have always used Marvel Enterprises for our appraisals until they changed their turnaround to 3 weeks. They are prompt with scheduling and usually make their deadlines. They have quite a few certified appraisers assigned to different parts of the island so the services is actually supposed to be quicker.
When we need revisions on completed appraisals, we simply fax a request and the receptionist distributes it to the correct party. We very often get a timely response back.
Marvel has also been known to get you get the value you need as much as they can yet staying within FNMA guidelines.

The first time I went to Lighting Elegance, I wanted to buy everything! I swear they have the most unique collection of lights to choose from - including chandilers, lights that hang from the ceiling (in all diff. colors) and track lighting. So many different types of light in every design you never thought possible. But of course, it came with a big price tag too. When I buy my first home, I'll definitely get my lights from them.

This nursery has been around for quite a while and the workers have been around for quite some time too. From the outside, it looks like a little forest or even a jungle. But the workers are pure horticulture enthusiast and grow many different types of plants and flowers. You'll be surprised at what you'll find.
I'd definitely recommend you going to Nakamura's before going to your supermarket gardening.
