Fun Place for Friends 6/28/2009

First off I must say that this place can be somewhat pretentious, but I’m a person who doesn’t let that stop me from having a good time. This is definitely a place for the younger 20-something crowd. They have a really great variety of beers, champagne and top shelf liquors. While out one night here with a couple friends we noticed this curious glowing green bottle making its way to a table and immediately asked what it was. The waitress let us know it was something called Tyku (sp?) We ordered the bottle and were amazed at how good it tasted, not to mention that it got a couple heads to turn! If it was for the helpful staff here we probably would have never discovered it and has now become our regular party drink… It can get a little crowded, especially on weekends so if you want room to breathe try going on a week day for post work cocktails An all around good place to hang with friends and enjoy the scene more

AMAZING 8/28/2008

I went here on my 21st. The bar tenders and everyone in the bar were all super friendly even before they knew it was my bday. Drinks are cheap and the atmosphere is great. There is either a DJ or live music. Plenty of cute tables for chatting away from the bar itself. The bar tenders also put on an amazing show if it is your 21st. And they are pretty cool when you end up getting sick. ;) Overall, not the usual scene in the area. Highly recommend it! more

Tan Corian??? 9/18/2006

I'm wondering if this reviewer was actually at this place. Just shows how "not" with it Citysearch is. Everything here is BLUE (not tan, as the reviewer specified). Great place altogether. It's a tasty bit of SF nightlife on the weekdays...too many dumbasses on the weekends. more

Jumping place 2/27/2006

I'm always skeptical about the clubs on Broadway, but my friends and I were in the neighborhood and needed a drink. Went to Fuse (saturday night) and had a great time. The bartenders were really cool and the drinks were on the strong side. Awesome cucumber cosmo and something the bartender made but had no name. It was busy but not to slammed to get a drink fairly easy or shake it on the dance floor. Kick- ass deejays. Pretty good amount of good looking women that weren't too stuck-up to talk and dance with us. I'll definitely be going back! Pros: great bartenders, strong drinks, cheap cover Cons: hard to park more

I love this bar! 1/24/2006

The atmosphere here is always super friendly, no matter the crowd. There's always someone to dance with. The bartenders are awesome! The normal doorman isn't too friendly, but went there last weekend and there was a new guy who was great! The drinks are always good, and the cover is cheap ($5). The music is always dance-able. Overall, my favorite place on Broadway. Pros: Great Bartenders, Good Music, Friendly Crowd more

Great Bar for Hanging Out 7/16/2005

I went to Fuse last Sunday night and again this Saturday night with my husband and we had a blast both times. The bartender on Sunday (and again on Saturday), Christian, was cool and made some of the best drinks I have ever had. The cucumber martini that the bartender recommended I try was excellent, and my husband had a caipirinha which was one of the best I've ever tasted in the US (by hubby is from Brazil, and he said the same). I highly recommend this bar: a very cool, mellow vibe on Sunday and very jumping on Saturday; excellent drinks; friendly staff; great music. A trendy, cool bar without the attitude. Highly recommended! Pros: Friendly Staff, Excellent Drinks, Great Music more

Wow, great drinks!! 2/14/2005

The wife and I were in SF this weekend. Bar hopped Saturday and Sunday. Stopped by Fuse on Sunday night. Not very busy, but we didn't care as the drinks were some of the best specialty martinis we've had. Didn't get the bartender's name, but he was very cool, and really knew how to mix a good martini. One with Mango was excellent. He made a great chocolate martini. His Metropolitan was incredible (great rasberry flavor). And there was a cucumber infused vodka martini on the menu which was out of this world. Never would have thought I'd like a drink with cucumber. Just don't try and eat the cucumber as it is soaked with alcohol (my wife found out the hardway). The decor and music were good, but not great. It's the drinks that make this place worth checking out. Pros: great drinks, cool bartender, great drinks!! Cons: seedy neighborhood more

Don't Waste Your Time 1/26/2005

If a cramped, overpriced atmosphere with a pretentious staff is your cup of tea, then this is the place for you! After waiting 15 minutes for the bartender to get off his cell phone, I was able to order a beer and a well drink cocktail... only to get stuck with a $14 tab! It became difficult to question the price over the loud and obnoxious 90's ska music, so we slammed our drinks and got out of there never to return. Cons: Rude Staff, Overpriced Drinks, Cramped more

Bad 8/3/2004

The crowd is horrible and the music is top 40 garbage. Strickly bridge and tunnel scene with guys in bowling shirts and girls in Forever 21. All this and a $5 cover on a wednesday while the bar is empty? more

Had a great time! 6/22/2004

While I had been a regular of Fuse for many years, I must admit that I was a little cautious about the management change. I am glad to report that it I have been plesantly suprised by the changes. about half of the old bar staff remains and I was glad to see that the same bouncers were there. The bar seems alot cleaner than it did before. It no longer has that funky oder it once did. They seem to be doing some remodeling to provide more space as well. The drinks were great... strong but not overpowering. The staff is very friendly. I met the new manager, Tom, who was a blast to be around. I Highly recomend Fuse to anyone looking for a great night out on the town. Pros: Friendly staff, Good Prices, Comfortable Cons: , packed on the weekend more

New Management at FUSE 5/2/2004

Looks like fuse is under new management and cost cutting is job number 1. The once famous drinks are now watered down and tired. The friendly bouncer and bar tenders are no more. This place lost all of its character, appeal and style. more

Fun Vibe - Friday Nite @ FUSE 4/28/2004

Some friends & I, who rarely frequent the North Beach club/bar scene on a Friday night, decided to start off at Kell's (edge of North Beach/Financial District), bad idea. It was a frat party gone wrong: bad music, bad drinks, and fugly people/bouncers. Wanting to make good use of our sweet parking spot, we walked up to Broadway and decided to try FUSE, which we've been to a couple of times on more tame North Beach evenings. Thank God! The bouncer was friendly, there was no cover, the bartenders were friendly and made kick-ass cocktails, and the DJ spun real beats... this more than made up for the horrible experience at Kell's. This place is intimate and the dance floor is small, but by far keeps me coming back to North Beach, even with the horrible parking, on Friday nights. Pros: Good/Strong Drinks, Friendly Bartenders, Great up & coming DJs Cons: , Long wait for drinks more

Original SF DJ Bar 2/23/2003

It's amazing to see SF's original DJ Bar alive and kicking - especially since each business on that corner of North beach has gone under in the last 3 years! The crowd definitely comes together Friday & Saturday nights - the matchbook-size dancefloor was rocking. A bit hard to get a drink, but they're big enough... by 2am you're loaded guaranteed. Pros: Eclectic DJs, Stiff Drinks, Positive Vibe Cons: Parking is tough more

fuse rocks 1/2/2003

Fuse is happening. It's crowded, festive, and hoppin on the weekends but other nights are more relaxed yet interesting enough. C'mon out of the mission sometimes why don'cha? This place supports up and coming dj's and doesn't push too hard to impress you. Honest vibes and service keep me coming back for more and more. Many dj's just stop by, on the fly with a bag of records and a desire to play some down-tempo on a laidback week night. But you can still hold a conversation with a mate thank you very much. ;-) Pros: weeknight parking, never a dull drink, ambiance is great more

Good Times 12/30/2002

This place knows how to combine a fun, good looking people, dancing, and great drinks all in one room! the bar tenders are awesome and the interior is amazing..A MUST SEE!!!!!!! more

Best Bar in San Fran! 11/20/2002

Early in November we took a trip to San Francisco. We hit all the bars in the top 10, and this was by far the BEST. The bartenders were not only attentive, but interesting and alot of fun. They talked to us at length about our vacation plans, and served us up some of their favorite drinks. The atmosphere was friendly and all about fun. We had a great time, and if we ever get back to the city Fuse is the first place we will go! more

Great place to hang out 11/14/2002

This place was a good place to chill and get a drink in a cool environment. It was hip, yet not stuffy. Not excessively crowded. Drinks were good too! more

great scene 7/28/2002

The bartenders are awesome; no cover (most of the time) is great; and the crowd usually has a great mix. The weekends have gotten a little more dude-ish, but Thursday isn't to be missed if you're in the neighborhood. Pros: hot spot, Great location, excellent bartenders Cons: hot spot, tough parking, may be too hip more

Good music, great vibe.. 6/13/2002

Fuse is a great place to go for loud electronica, and new concoctions. well, that was my experience anyway. They serve regular drinks as well, and this place is hoppin on weekends...In the heart of Northbeach! more

Best spot in North Beach 5/21/2002

I had such a good time. Stiff drinks and friendly bartenders. more

  • In Short
The velvet-rope treatment is sometimes in effect amid the bright lights of the neighborhood strip. Inside the two-room hangout, a menu of six specialty cocktails, including a mojito, sits atop a V-shape bar made of tan Corian. The other half of the space features cocktail tables that can be cleared to form a dance floor in front of a DJ setup adorned with candles.
