Best

They have lots on tap but my favorite when I come here is the Elysian, this is a good hangout before or after a game. The Steak Sandwiches are really good.

Worst

Met friends here last Saturday night - albeit a weekend evening, we dared to go out and have a low-key night playing Scrabble over drinks and food. Chose the place for their food/...

Excited about this new pub. Excellent food--had the mussels, hummus and pitas, and steak sandwich today. Just a really nice restaurant in the usually dormant area around the stadium. A lot bigger than I imagined too. Not to mention the fancy pants restrooms. Highly recommended, good for small or large parties. more

Excellent selection, great food, good prices, and good atmosphere 4/18/2006

I recently visited the Elysian and was impressed first off by the wide variety of vegan and vegetarian food items. Yes, it's located on Capitol Hill, but nevertheless, I have never visited a brewpub with such a selection for non-omnivores. I was further impressed by the prices and selection of the alcoholic beverages. My friend was quite pleased with his two different Belgian beers, and my Framboise was the best beer I've ever had (possibly because it tastes almost nothing like beer, more like sweet raspberry alcohol). I had a squash soup which was hearty and creamy (but creamless) and came with some tasty crusty bread. I strongly recommend this place! more

Their Restaurant Makes the Brewery Seem Like a Prop 3/16/2006

Some breweries do tours, but the Elysian is small, and people dine next to their huge brewing vats. Once certainly has a sort of industrial feel to the dining experience, but the pennants and other decor also are reminiscent of the dining hall at Harry Potter's Hogwarts. Unlike most bars, their restaurant stands on it's own, with good -- albeit not great -- food, which happens to go perfectly with the beers that they make. So it's best to do what many do when touring a brewery when dining, order the assortment of half a dozen beer samplers to drink with your meal, and invite a friend unless you have a massive alcohol tolerance. more

Wide beer selection and pretty good food to boot 2/27/2006

I have come to the Elysian for years, and they have always been friendly to both vegetarians and non-vegetarians with a distinct menu of food that is complimentary to the excellent beer that they brew in-house. Outside of that, they also have a large belgian beer selection that is really great, and a large friendly atmosphere. more

Great for large parties 2/2/2006

I play bridge every Thursday night at the Elysian with a group that is usually about 8-12 people. There's never been a problem getting enough tables together for all of us, even when there are lots of other large parties around. And of course the beer is always fresh. Steak frites is my favorite thing on the menu, but the fish and chips is usually a good bet too. more

Great food, fun atmophere, good beer 2/2/2006

I really like pub breweries and this one is a good one. The food is quite good and there are actually some decent vegetarian options, which isn't that typical for most bar menus (unless you're in Seattle I guess!). The beer is great, and the building and atmosphere is really open and fun. It's often crowded, but it's a good place to hang out and a great place to get a decent dinner. They also have a very large tv, for sports fans and such. And it's located on Capitol Hill. more

Try elysian 2/2/2006

Elysian is a good place: 1. Great beer brewed on premises 2. All ages are welcome 3. They have a big TV 4. wide variety of good, reasonable priced food (something for everyone) 5. Large space (easier to find a seat) I like to take my 15 year old brother to Elysian because it's fun and social like any good pub but thy realize that they don't have to discriminate against people under 21 to keep it fun and social. Highly recommended. more

Elysian 8/18/2005

Talk about the perfect neighborhood pub! This place brews their own and has won awards for it. The food is abnormally good; in fact, everyone I’ve taken there has said the nachos are the best they’ve ever had! The service is good, environment great, excellent music, full bar with their own beer (try the stout!)…seriously, you can’t ask for anything more. It’s also a great place for large parties. more
