I didn't really care for the stuff in this store, but my girlfriend did. They've got some nice stuff like soap, buttons, random journals and the like. One thing I did notice, however, was the service. It was great. They don't even have a cash register, and indeed the service is that personal.

Burnt Sugar might be the only place in the city where you can purchase Jack Spade bags. It’s an upscale boutique, but the stuff is really fun. It all has a French twist, too. Like I said, it’s expensive, but you won’t find these products in many other places. It makes for a fun stop in Fremont.

Madison Market is great for most shopping needs. The stuff the stock is a little more expensive than a basic grocery store, but it is pretty comparable to other organic markets. Parking is not so convenient, so that is one drawback. Otherwise, if you’re in the area, it is a fine place to shop for your weekly groceries.

This place did a great job of cleaning my glasses even though I didn’t buy anything. The salespeople very helpful and available answer any questions. They seem to have a really great selection of frames and lenses, but I didn’t get a chance to check the prices. They didn’t charge me for the cleaning, though, so that’s good.

After the salesperson and I talked, she sat me down and came back with 20(!) frames she thought I should try on, in addition to the ones I wanted to try on. She was truthful with me too—some didn’t look good and she told me so. I also got the free spare pair of glasses as well—they’re nice.

I like this place because the people there actually really like riding bikes. They once spent an hour with me just telling me about products even though it was very clear I was not buying at the time. It’s small, so the place stocks only the bare essentials. If you ride fixed-gear, this is the place for you.

It’s really unfortunate that this place is so close to where I live because it’s not a very nice shop. There’s not a good selection of anything and their prices are so-so. But the worst is the service. Everyone seems rude and sort of suspicious of you. There does not seem to be a smile in there for you.

Gregg’s seems to be the biggest shop around. I like their selection, but sometimes they get so busy that the salespeople don’t have time for you. I found myself getting shuffled around quite a bit, so it wasn’t as productive as I would have liked. But, their prices are good and if you can snag a sales person you’ll probably have a good experience.

I’ve been to a lot of bike shops around the area, and I think this is one of the top ones. They carry a great selection of bikes and gear. I find all the helmets, shooes, bags, pedals, and other goodies I need here. The service department is also very nice—so far they’ve been on time and on budget.
