As a working professional, you just don't hang up on customers. Granted the city is a crazy place, theres no reason to hold your buisness in a sad-attitude regard. I called desoto and rudely the operator said i'm sorry but its hard to get a cab on a saturday night--then hung up.. trust when someone randomnly says don't use this cab company. you'll get through your life better knowing you're not supporting a seriously left of center buisness. good luck! more

I called DeSoto to pick me up at 5 PM, still no cab at 5:40. There was no apology from the dispatcher(s) - plural, because I called four times to check on the cab that was supposed to arrive. She only said, ""I can't do anything about it."" After waiting for one full hour on my designated street corner, I gave up and walked down the street, immediately running into an empty cab. Don't call them, it's not worth it. Cons: don't count on them to pick you up more

I'm so happy that I used this service today. Man they were so quick I called and I just wait for 5 min and the cab was just there outside my door. Not only that the driver went above & beyond with the service. He help carry out a 150lb box from my house to the cab and later to the shipping company. I strongly recommend to use their service for everything even for moving :) Thank you DeSoto more

Called Desoto and they would take forever. I called another cab company and was already 5 min. from my destination when Desoto called me back with an automeated voice that the cab is on it's way and will be there in 5 minutes. I called Desoto one day in advance for a cab to SFO and told them that I will be on a tight time table. On the morning of my flight, no one showed up! I called Desoto and asked them where my driver is and I was told the he was running 15min. late due to a busy morning. At that point, I am already running 20min. behind schedule and flagged another cab. Whats the point of calling Desoto. They just dont show up for their pick-ups. Overall DeSoto Cab Co provides good service. However, it needs to remove difficult drivers. On two occasions where the driver insisted that his route was the fastest and most correct -- the routes were roundabout, designed to hike the meter, and questionnable. I had to be extremely firm for them to change course. And, on the second occasion, which was very recent, the driver was extremely rude and argumentative. This experience has left me somewhat shell-shocked and disappointed. All it takes is one or two bad apples in the bunch to downgrade a company's reputation. I commend all the other fine drivers in the company but it saddens me that those few difficult drivers can ruin a customer's experience and trust. I hope that management can provide proper customer service training for all drivers to ensure that all employees share the same commitment to excellent customer service. more

Having moved to San Francisco 2 years ago, I had come to find Desoto a reliable cab company. Unfortunately they managed to lose me as a customer in one single night. After waiting for 20minutes at 4:30am for a cab, I called in only to be told my cab wasn't coming and hung up on. All of the employees at Desoto are extremely hardworking, I can relate. My friends and I were stuck in the city at 2 in the morning with no bus or bart going into the east bay. I began to call around for price quotes comparing the time it took for them to answer the phone, the time it took for them to provide a response, yet more importantly; who provided the lowest rate. As I was beginning to develop a frustration for the many, many rings it took for a person to answer, Desoto cab answered within the first 2 rings. The man who answered the phone was extremely nice and provided the lowest price. The cab arrived within 3 minutes; he asked if we knew a faster route than the one he was aware of, and was very nice. If you ever feel in need of a taxi cab with exceptional customer service, you deserve Desoto.
